RB Aaron Jones on entering a season without Aaron Rodgers under center:
"A-Rod doesn't want to be here so he's not going to be here. ... You've got to shift your focus and get ready."
The Packers quite literally don't make the playoffs in 2010 if this punt return — they needed the Eagles to beat the Giants to stay alive — and therefore DeSean Jackson is tied to their last Super Bowl victory.
DeSean Jackson on his favorite play as an Eagle: “The punt return in 2010. That goes down in my book as one of the greatest plays ever.”
Recalls the feeling as if he “sailed into the end zone.”

wideout Jayden Reed has been nominated for the FexEd Air & Ground Players of the Week Award.
Seems appropriate given that Reed had a 70-yard receiving touchdown and a 33-yard rushing touchdown.
If a receiver takes out three defenders on a single block, he can do the riverdance for all I care. The NFL essentially fined Packers wideout Allen Lazard for being exceptional at his job.
Free-agent running back Jamaal Williams acknowledges that he won't return to the
#Packers
following Aaron Jones' extension: "It's just sad that we won't be able to play together again."
#Packers
HC Matt LaFleur's now infamous declaration that players "gotta wake up with their piss hot" hits differently after you learn that, during his time with the
#Texans
, he, Kyle Shanahan, and the other young coaches were referred to collectively as "the piss boys."
Jordan Love is not believed to have torn his ACL, according to
@TomPelissero
.
This doesn't necessarily mean the outcome will be good, but this is the most positive news on the Packers quarterback thus far.
#Chargers
OL Bryan Bulaga says that, based on the talent the Packers had during his time there, he's surprised they didn't reach another Super Bowl.
"I've played in a lot of NFC Championship Games. I've lost a lot of NFC Championship Games."
The full quote from Chargers owner Dean Spanos: "It's total fucking bullshit, ok? We're not going to London. We're not going anywhere. We're playing in Los Angeles. This is our home. This is where I'm planning to be for a long fucking time. Period."
I covered the Chargers in a previous job. Everyone loves to make the same joke about their lack of fans, but they exist and they're passionate. The team has rarely rewarded that passion.
It sucks for those fans and it's bad for the NFL. Tonight's just another drop in the bucket.
A lot of people don't seem to realize just how well Jordan Love has played since the start of November, especially considering the
#Packers
have the NFL's youngest receiving corps AND didn't have Aaron Jones and Christian Watson for significant portions of this stretch.
If the
#Packers
want to sign Jordan Love to an extension this offseason, the young QB's play has justified that decision.
However, any contract talks will have to overcome more hurdles than the typical QB negotiation.
via
@TheLeapGB
While no one should assume this represents a breakthrough, the Packers and Aaron Rodgers having any talks on a contract is a big deal given where the two sides stood a week ago.
Packers HC Matt LaFleur on Jordan Love:
"He's a tough-minded sucker. His family did a hell of a job raising him in terms of just what he's all about. He's about the right shit."
Clay Matthews III doesn't get enough credit for being a field tilter from the jump. He led the Packers in sacks and total pressures as a rookie in 2009 and then finished second in Defensive Player of the Year voting in 2010 (missed the award by two votes).
Former Packers offensive tackle Bryan Bulaga will announce Green Bay's second-round draft picks.
Unfortunately, that means he almost certainly won't get a chance to say, "Cooper DeJean, Iowa."
Watch how Elgton Jenkins (No. 74) passes off his defender to the left tackle then resets to take on another pass rusher. Jenkins is starting his eighth game, but he already looks like a veteran. Great find by the Packers.
Remember when the Packers were "considered the favorites" to land Stephon Gilmore? Turned out, those reports just pushed the Panthers to make a deal.
The Odell Beckham/Packers rumors could prove true, but the timing of the leaks is noteworthy.
Packers draft pick Kalen King sounds like he's literally crying as he describes his draft experience:
"This experience that I got these past three days has been nothing but a humbling experience for me. I'm going to use it to add fuel to the fire. There have been a lot of
In August 2022,

GM Brian Gutekunst had a hard call to make: keep Rasheed Walker (seventh-round pick who missed most of camp, returned for preseason finale) or Caleb Jones (UDFA who outperformed Walker). Gutekunst went with Walker and risked Jones to waivers.
In Year 2,
The Packers' deal for Jimmy Graham pays $30 million over three years, according to
@RapSheet
. Graham will earn $22 million of that amount over the first two years of the deal.
Packers HC Matt LaFleur on second-half approach:
"We came in at halftime and I asked the guys, 'What's the score?' They all said, '0-0.' I know it's one thing to say it, it's another thing to go out and do it. Fortunately, we built a lead that was too big to overcome."
The Packers ranked 27th on Forbes' list of the 50 most valuable sports franchises at $2.63 billion. To avoid confusion, they don't rank 27th in the NFL. They rank 27th among all sports teams in the world.
#Packers
QB Aaron Rodgers earned first-team All-Pro honors, receiving 36 of the 50 votes at quarterback. That bodes well for his MVP chances.
WR Davante Adams also earned first-team All-Pro honors.

HC Anthony Lynn says free-agent QB Colin Kaepernick is "on the workout list." Lynn says Kaepernick fits what the team wants to do on offense.
Greg Rousseau does not look like a guy who sat out all of last season. Even beyond the early sack, he has collapsed the pocket and hurried some throws. Very impressive night for the Bills' rookie.
And Za'Darius Smith isn't doing it alone on the Packers defense. Next Gen Stats also has Kenny Clark at 10 pressures, Preston Smith at nine, and Kyler Fackrell at six through Week 3.
The
@packers
lead the NFL in defensive pressure pct this season at 39.0% (21st last season). They have done so with the 5th-lowest blitz rate (19.5%).
Free-agent signing

is T-4th in the NFL with 15 QB pressures.
According to
@NextGenStats
Multiple reports indicate that the
#Vikings
won't have either WR Jordan Addison or TE T.J. Hockensen available when they host the
#Packers
on Sunday.
The winner of the game isn't guaranteed a playoff berth, but the loser is effectively eliminated.
Davante Adams now has nine receiving touchdowns on the season. He is one away from reaching double digits for the third consecutive year, something no Packers player has done since Sterling Sharpe (1992-94).

HC Matt LaFleur on
#Panthers
DC Ejiro Evero:
"I've got a lot of respect for Ejiro, just as a football coach. He's a great communicator. He's demanding. He holds guys accountable. ... You see it on tape. They're very well coached."
#Packers
HC Matt LaFleur, irritated, when asked what caused the first-half performance:
"We got our ass kicked. If I knew why, it wouldn't have happened."
LaFleur called it a "BS question."
Justin Herbert has wildly exceeded expectations for his rookie season. To play this well without a normal offseason is so impressive.
The Chargers have a QB that doesn't appear to have a ceiling and, even if they don't capitalize in 2020, he opens up a world of possibilities.
If you're still wondering why the Bears didn't seriously pursue Cam Newton this offseason, consider that he would not have lost a competition with Mitch Trubisky. Nick Foles might have received a shot at the job, but he was someone Trubisky could beat. That's what Chicago wanted.
Packers DC Jeff Hafley on CB Kalen King:
"Really good football player. Really good instincts. He played on the inside, played on the outside. He's a physical guy. He'll tackle. ... Really not sure why he fell to when he did."
Packers HC Matt LaFleur on Keisean Nixon taking the final kickoff out of the end zone.
"I'm going to put that one on me, and that will not happen again."
LaFleur was clearly not pleased that one of his returners took the ball out from 7 yards deep.
Everyone will focus on the fact the kicker's name is Blewitt, but the Packers blocked a field-goal attempt that started with a long-snapper named Cheeseman.
Brian Gutekunst signed De'Vondre Campbell for a song back in June. We've reached the point where that might not actually be his best signing of the year.
Rasul Douglas haș been nothing short of a revelation for a Packers secondary that badly needed one.
Asked what type of QB he prefers,
#Raiders
HC Jon Gruden provided a description that sounds little like Derek Carr:
"I'm getting old now. I want to let it fly. I want big plays. I want excitement. These bubble screens and checkdowns only go so far with me."
The Packers played hardball with Davante Adams this offseason, debating the definition of "highest-paid wideout" and other key issues.
After another stellar game, Adams has rendered those arguments moot. Green Bay should pay him whatever he requires.
#Chargers
WR Mike Williams is happy the team picked up his fifth-year option.
"It felt good. Felt like I was doing something right. ... I'm trying to be in LA the rest of my career to be honest."
With the Cowboys' win over the Seahawks, the Packers can now move into the NFC's No. 7 position with a win Sunday.
Obviously, not an easy task. Still, the fact that Green Bay finds itself here after going winless in October seems incredible.
Martellus Bennett is active, which means his claim that the Packers pressured him to play instead of getting surgery looks a little less than credible.
Packers first-round pick Eric Stokes has been busy, especially since Jaire Alexander and Kevin King went down. However, he has played well, and not just for a rookie corner.

Odell Beckham Jr.'s deal with the Browns included offset language, per
@JFowlerESPN
. If so, neither the Packers nor Beckham have incentive to go higher than the veteran minimum.
According to NFL source,
#Packers
are offering Odell Beckham Jr., the veteran minimum. Of course, that could go up, but they can’t pay him a ton when they still haven’t extended Davante Adams.
Austin Ekeler was an undrafted free agent three years ago. Now, he's popular enough to represent the Chargers in the NFL's Christmas message (with his signature celebration no less).
An incomplete list of veteran wideouts on the free-agent market:
Will Fuller
Julio Jones
Jarvis Landry
JuJu Smith-Schuster
Sammy Watkins
Not great options for the Packers. The trade market might hold some better options.
Packers HC Matt LaFleur on having Christian Watson available for the 2024 opener after the wideout missed the opener last year:
"We all have seen how explosive and dynamic he is as a playmaker ... He is an important part of what we do."
Sean Payton says he was waiting on a call from the Packers following his interview with the organization and, upon learning that Mike McCarthy got the job, threw his phone into a pillow.

HC Matt LaFleur's message to players after this portion of the offseason program ends:
"Obviously, there's a standard of what you have to conduct yourself, not only on the field but off the field as well. Understand that you represent the Green Bay Packers."
Aaron Rodgers says the Packers put more into their game plan for Washington than in a typical week so they'd have unused, repped concepts for the Cardinals on Thursday. They're not the only team that handles short weeks this way, but it's still a sign of good coaching.
Anthony Lynn has said Tyrod Taylor will start when he's healthy. I don't think he's lying.
Still, I do not know how Lynn can justify sitting Justin Herbert to the Chargers' locker room. The rookie looks like he belongs, and he'll develop faster on the field than on the sideline.
