This is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! Checked my trail cam pics & I see a Golden Eagle landing with a deer leg right in front of my camera which is on a ridge between two swampy lakes. UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
I have a mix of emotions going through me right now. Joy & thanks for the meat I’m providing for my family & then sadness & respect for this deer whose life I’ve taken.
My friend’s neighbor’s cat loves riding on his remote control truck. If the cat sees him use the truck it cries until he takes it for a ride. He got a trailer & made a hitch to pull the cat around.
Found the feral mare in an open pasture. Brought her 2 cups of oats, alfalfa cubes & crunchies. It sure tugs on your heart strings when I watch her look at me as I walk away. I’ll see her again in 3 weeks
Got called by a rancher losing calves to coyotes as they’re being born. This is secs before the 3rd coyote went down. Nothing escaped the 7mm rem mag today
Quit hunting early because of high winds & went to check on the feral horses back at camp. With the temps going to -20C, I thought they’d like some treats & oats tonight.
When I got to camp, I went to find the feral horses to bring them some rolled oats & treats. The big mare found me & I heard the black mare call out but she didn’t want to be found. I’ll check on her before I leave.
Found & bought some hay so we made a trip back to the feral horses & pulled in 5 bales. The black one is very thin & I’m NOT letting her starve in this deep snow. It’s 4 days of food & the warm weather should come fast.
I’ve always said that when I retired I would go sit by the river mid week with a coffee to watch & listen to the birds. 2.5yrs into retirement & I’m finally doing it.
