I recently found a knockoff version of @outerbase on Github by one of China's largest companies. I'm all about being inspired by other companies but it's pretty wild to have your entire product and business model copied. Especially by a company valued at over $200B...

Outerbase was ripped off and open-sourced recently and I chalked it up to a lack of morals, but it's really upsetting to see a YC company do this to another YC alumni's company. Good designers steal, they don't copy + paste.

Have you ever realized that choosing a database is a lot like picking a starter pokemon? • Firebase - fire type obviously • MySQL - it’s a dolphin so its water type • MongoDB - logo is a leaf, need I say more? The decision is minor in the big picture, just focus on evolving
