Inevitably, and annoyingly, we’ve had reports of photographers trespassing into the enclosed fields at Oakhill where the SEOs are. If you’re one of these idiots - why?? Please don’t enter these private fields and disturb the birds. Perfectly good views can be had from the gate.

More daft behaviour at the Dipper this morning, i.e people stood on the stream bank (less than 10yds from the bird’s favoured feeding spot). This a rightly widely admired bird, but could we please ask all visitors DON’T BE AN IDIOT! Show some fieldcraft and you’ll see the bird 🙂

❗️Sadly we have received reports of photographers hassling the Dartford Warbler at Hyde Heath, and also trespassing onto the set aside to do so. The bird can be seen from PROWs. There’s no need to set foot in the set aside to harrass a hungry bird in cold weather.

As migration picks up, it’s worth noting that for accuracy, we’re making the distinction between birds seen at Ivinghoe Beacon & Steps Hill wherever possible. The two sites are neatly divided by a minor road. The Ring Ouzels & Redstart have frequented the fields SE of the beacon.

Busy morning so far! Black Redstart at Tattenhoe. Sand Martin at Marlow. Pintails at Willen & Foxcote. Med Gull at Leckhampstead Wharf. And a co-ordinated site count for Great White Egret has turned up at least 10 individuals so far. Great stuff! #bucksbirdnews

With our breeding Redshank population having recently shrunk to the odd pair at College Lake, it’s brilliant to report successful breeding from Gallows Bridge (at least one chick). Thanks Tim 👍 #bucksbirdnews
