I'm increasingly disappointed and disturbed by the number of tech PR firms emailing to ask, in so many words, how much will it cost for us to post editorial content on your site? I can only assume this is because some other sites increasingly let them do so. PRs - don't ask us.

If anyone wants a case study in why tech suppliers love proprietary technology, this is it - VME was ICL's proprietary mainframe operating system, first installed by HMRC nearly 40 years ago, and still it's racking up another £168m for Fujitsu...

So, the British Journalism Awards prize for technology journalism went to Carol Cadwalldr of the Observer, to whom congratulations. And not a surprise. But I'm so proud of my @ComputerWeekly team for being shortlisted against hugely better funded national papers... 1/2

I mean, seriously, read this thread and see yet another example of why all the #postofficescandal convictions need to be summarily overturned - how can any of the convictions be considered safe when the Post Office behaviour throughout was so egregious?

1/22 When in September 2005 auditors discovered an alleged £52,864 shortfall in the branch account at Rainham Road Post Office, Sub-Postmistress Teju Adedayo fabricated a story to explain what had happened to the ‘missing’ money.

We now know that Post Office culture when Horizon came in was widespread distrust towards SPMs, convinced that many were fiddling the books. When Horizon flagged up apparent losses, it was confirmation bias - PO investigators thought "at last, we've caught the thieving bastards"

The question I have about the Post Office scandal is that no one seems to have said “This is VERY odd. There seems to have been an explosion of fraud. Among previously unimpeachable postmasters”. Didn’t the statistics alone howl at them that something was wrong?

PR is getting really weird - just received this 1st line on an email pitch: "I’ve been really impressed about your articles Top 10 CIO interviews of 2017 on technology, and feel that you would be interested in writing about Bone Conduction Technology"

Best of luck to the 42 sub postmasters awaiting a ruling at the Court of Appeal today. May their nightmare be over, and may the call for a full public inquiry into the appalling scandal of the Post Office’s treatment of them finally be heard #PostOfficeScandal

If there's one thing we've learned from all these 'so near and yet so far' tournaments for England it's this: we always lose on ITV. Ban them from ever covering England again

This article by @Karlfl is a fantastic summary of the long charge sheet against the Post Office (and the government), the many reasons why a full statutory inquiry is required, and the outstanding questions that need to be answered: #PostOfficeScandal
