Peeler Lake 8/4-8/6 — Survived my 3rd backpacking trip and this time we hiked 15 miles out-and-back to Peeler Lake. Def one of the most challenging but rewarding hikes I’ve been on and staying out there two nights gave me just enough time to turn off my work brain and enjoy it 😌

Was on a hike today and saw this bat flying over the stream catching bugs so I started recording and got the moment he flew too close and was swept up. I RAN down the trail and jumped in where I was able to spot him coming over a small drop and snatched him out. He lived! 😭🙏🏼🦇

Got a puppy today! Everyone meet Petey the panther chameleon! About a month ago I set up a bioactive enclosure and monitored it closely to make sure it was ready for him when I finally took him in. So excited to finally be a dad and form a bond with this funky lizard 🥹
