rule: When you commit pass interference and targeting on the same play in the final two minutes of a playoff game, the penalties offset.
Just a quick note here that starting today I am on medical leave for a while. Please follow

basketball stuff. The job is in good hands.
Senior walk-on Chase Martin just trying to dribble out the clock. AJ Storr steals it from him, dunks and hangs on the rim to cap a 10-point loss. Classy as hell.
#Purdue
would be ecstatic if they called stuff like this every single time in the Big Ten because Jaden Ivey would lead the country in free throw attempts, with the two centers close behind collectively.
In addition to the massive failures in calling clear fouls (arm bars on handlers, grabbing/chucking cutters), there is this type of foul. The defender is inside of the restricted arc, does not jump, and makes contact with the shooter with arms down, not vertical. Foul, uncalled.
It's difficult for the referees to figure out how to officiate Zach Edey, TV says. It's a shame they didn't just have a whole regular season to figure it out.
You know, if
#Purdue
encounters foul trouble tonight, Robbie Hummel, Rapheal Davis, Dakota Mathias and Ryan Cline are all here with COVID years to burn. Just saying.
#Purdue
’s Trey Kaufman-Renn is fine. Practicing today. Rolled ankle at Iowa, but is not limited in any now, per assistant coach Paul Lusk, who stood in for Matt Painter today
Just to be very clear here: The seniors leaving
#Purdue
and transferring were always leaving. They are just gonna use their COVID years elsewhere and presumably make some NIL money in so doing.
Matt Painter at Big Ten Media Day: Braden Smith 'is a fabulous player. How he wasn't ranked in the top 75, top 100 ... (the media) will have the same question after the first month of the season.'
Matt Painter said today that
#Purdue
will start Jaden Ivey, Eric Hunter and Sasha Stefanovic at Minnesota Wednesday night, along with Zach Edey and Mason Gillis.
I’ll start: It sure seems as if Purdue really wanted a QB who knows when to hold ‘em, knows when to fold ‘em, knows when to walk away, and knows when to run.
So this column I have to write tonight, I’ve been preparing for months to write and I’m still not sure I have the ability to grasp the magnitude of it all.
In the most badass moment of the game, Purdue offensive lineman Greg Long pours a can of

's 24-7 win over No. 2 Iowa today in Iowa City.
Notable that Illinois and Wisconsin — the two teams
#Purdue
’s tied with atop the Big Ten — still must visit the Pit of Death that is Jersey Mike’s Arena.
I know the stats are what they are, but Mason Gillis has been
#Purdue
’s MVP today, IMO. Especially in the second half. Big Ten player playing winning Big Ten ball.
Here's one of your differences in this game: Trey Kaufman-Renn has five offensive rebounds and Fletcher Loyer four steals. That's nine possessions, basically.
Should someone mention that 9 percent of
#Purdue
's 46 free throw attempts came from two technical fouls called on Northwestern after the outcome was decided? And that four prior came off strategic fouls to extend the game?
Initial reaction: Great draw for
#Purdue
. People will make fun of them, but there's no parallels between this team and past ones except for the uniforms.
#Purdue

five-star Max Christie and four-star Caleb Furst on campus today for its meeting with No. 8 Michigan State. Two of its top Class of 2021 recruiting targets.
