! Our volunteers sorted food and packed nearly 45,000 meals for the hungry.
With the outreach to those affected by Hurricane Ida, there has been an increase in demand for certain food and supplies. Items that are ready to eat are highest priority as many of those we are serving do not have power.
Over 40,000 households in the 11-parishes we serve are still without power as of end of day yesterday. Although the need for immediate assistance is immense, we are committed to supporting affected communities throughout the long recovery ahead.
The holidays are a time of celebration, family, friends and gift giving. For many, the holidays are very different. You can make a difference this holiday season by giving a gift to feed the food insecure in our community.

Our volunteers spent their morning packing boxes for our Adopt-A-Senior Program which allows at-risk seniors in the area to receive food. Each box consists of shelf-stable items such as canned goods, pasta, and vegetables!

Thank you to the 174 volunteers from Blue Cross Blue Shield for volunteering this past Saturday to pack meals at their Pack Shack event. The team was able to pack 58,343 meals for the hungry in our 11-parish service area.
During summer, many families struggle with hunger in the absence of school lunches. Families can use the No Kid Hungry Summer Meals Texting Hotline to find free summer meals near them.

Due to Hurricane Marco, the Food Bank will be closed Monday and Tuesday, Aug 24 and 25. Mobile distributions are cancelled for both those days as well.
