It's thought by some to be caused by abusive upbringing, which is common among authoritarians. Alice Miller described that upbringing in the 20th century. Ex-evangelicals say it's common there.

@yearningjon @notcorry Terfs are concerned about the fertility of white trans people they see as young women. It’s the same forced fertility/forced childbearing that we see from other fascists. They see becoming a trans man as an unacceptable rejection of pregnancy. Same reason for opposing abortion.
