The matrix did have Rutgers (218/229, 95.2%) in its field. In percentage terms, this snub is only exceeded in matrix history by 2011 VaTech (97.8%) and 2007 Syracuse (96.7%). It’s also the 5th season in a row that a team in at least 90% of brackets was not chosen for the tourney

The matrix consensus missed on Virginia (23/226 brackets) and instead chose Oklahoma (149/226). There were also several multi-seed misses including Nevada (10 vs. matrix 7), Gonzaga (5 vs. 7), FAU (8 vs. 10), New Mexico (11 vs. 9), Boise St. (10 vs. 8), and Utah St (8 vs. 6).

The matrix had Texas A&M (200 brackets) in the field while Notre Dame (75 brackets) was out. The Aggies become the 9th team since 2006 to be listed in at least 90% of brackets but not chosen. It's also the 4th consecutive tourney this has occurred.
