I began teaching @warwickuni in 1999 and am proud to have clocked up 20 years of full time service - the work of an #EAP tutor rarely makes front page news, but it provides a vital lifeline to support our students. Glad I have been able to help students in this way.

@MetroUK From what I recall when I used to be a school governor, schools tend to profit from school meals services, so there is not really any reason for this. If the school is in debt, they need to look at cutting costs elsewhere, not depriving children of important meals.

@JMoncktonSmith @James_Treadwell @Jgicriminolg Yes, a lot to think about here as we move into the New Year. As a transgender person myself I can only agree with this. What sort of role models do we ultimately want & we can certainly do better than standing in solidarity with predators (of any kind).

@DrPragyaAgarwal Solidarity. I was once with my daughter in A and E and was unable to come into work. My line manager asked why my wife couldnโ€™t have stayed with my daughter instead and accused me of having too much time off work. Oh and by the way my daughter was okay, not that he asked me.

@MetroOpinion @UglaStefania So sad. I experience microagressions on a regular basis - I've been spat at out of car windows, verbally abused in the street, felt physically threatened on public transport, and mocked and insulted by trolls on social media. Microagressions add up to a bigger picture of hate.

@JoPhoenix1 @DrJoGrady I fully agree. A union can't base its support of someone in the workplace on whether it happens to agree with their viewpoint. The union is paid (handsomely, I might add) to support paid-up professionals and should be there for everyone & listen to everyone's voice.
