$CBA.AX Almost 3x book value for a bank! And it’s our largest company For the uninitiated, this means CBA’s market cap is trading at nearly 3x the value of its balance sheet. A huge premium - when have banks ever traded for more than this globally? Genuinely curious to know.

Fascinating chart here - Surgeons, Medical Specialists and Dental Practitioners seem to have some of the highest rates of Aussie investment property ownership. For Financial Dealers the ownership level is much lower, despite the comparatively high income. Any theories why??

$CBA.AX Aussie banks have long been the domain of yield hungry investors, especially retirees But at current prices: CBA shares offer a fully franked yield of ~ 3.4% (4.9% grossed up) A CBA term deposit currently offers 4.9% for 12 months I know which one I'd be taking!

Time for insurance renewals and wow it’s grim… Insurance costs have continued to escalate Quote to insure an SUV for personal use: $2,060 Same car to insure in 2021 the cost was < $800 CPI 4% now though… Surely there’s a lot of people opting out of cover at this point…

Gold Coast house prices - here's a great example of the surge in prices the GC has seen Tugun - an area historically full of junkies and fibro shacks Median house price of $690k in July 2019, today it is up to $1.245m Where have the junkies moved to? Priced out of the GC!
