Love how Walt himself edited the plaque copy. "Here" is where the immersion begins. Was the 4:3 aspect ratio size an unconscious reference to film? Who knows? My favorite of all Disney details. Everything mattered.

To me, DLP finally making serious money (now that disney owns it) is a huge thing. No park struggled harder to survive to hit 30 than @DisneylandParis ! Thx to all the CM's and WDI that made this possible! Now maybe some rides? Merci Beaucoups!

I was just informed that Dan Goozee, a VERY talented artist who visualized many of our favorite attractions, and (created EDL Plaza Inn murals) passed away. We all fought to have Dan illustrate our projects! He added that "magic" and will be greatly missed.

Sadly we lost guitar legend Dick Dale at 81, who shredded the “Space Mountain” soundtrack with his signature licks. He even played live in 1998 atop Space Mountain and said to the opening night crowd ”It doesn’t get better than this!” We agree, thank you Dick.

We hear a lot about brand authenticity. Walt Disney was his own brand and the park was his essence. So it was natural that he was passionate and lived every detail. These “lost in thought” images show his constant and fanatical passion to anticipate and please his audience.

Here's an example of a great DLP upgrade. 1992 on the left versus 2019. Love the added energy of the color, chandeliers and striped tent feel. New design that enhances the concept! We should have done it before!

To me, one the best examples of the "Discovery" style was "Stormrider" at Tokyo DisneySea. Often overlooked, its huge facade and preshow design are really great.

Dick Nunis ponders the "Euro Disneyland Hotel" during opening ceremonies. He had fought bitterly against it. Dick was a passionate believer in protecting Walt's vision and ran the parks like Rolex watches. To me, in many ways you were Disney! Passed at 91.
