Make no mistake. Tomorrow is the anniversary of the saddest, darkest day in Connecticut and maybe the country’s history. We’ve had way too many shootings since Newtown...but this one will always hurt so much more. Hugs and thoughts to every person impacted by that horrible day.
Meet the newest member of the family!!! Guinness St. James Maxon. We love

An amazing capture of a snow squall rolling along the shoreline yesterday. Pauline S of Pawcatuck nailed this one! Thanks for sharing Pauline!! WOW. This is Desktop material!

10 years ago today....this storm was just getting going. A once in a generational snow storm with some of the heaviest snowfall rates we've ever seen.

Do you remember waking up on the 9th and pulling back the drapes? What did you say? Keep in g rated!
I find it amusing that many people are whining on social media that there is wintry weather in mid-March. Last I checked, it happens almost every March, so crying about it doesn't make it any better, or easier to take. It IS what it IS and there is nothing anyone can do about it
My annual post about moving the Super Bowl to Saturday. It’s not 1967 anymore. Adapt to societal change and make it enjoyable for all. This is actually my first post about this.
**Stop scrolling** Here is the most beautiful capture from yesterday. From Bethlehem and Long Meadow Pond. As a light shower moved by, the calm winds, rainbow, foliage, and reflection makes this a top 10 of 2022!! Do you agree? This would be a cool puzzle!

Blessed to be able to relax outside with my bud. He’s going to rake leaves and I’ll pick up sticks. I probably have that backwards.

9 Years ago today, the Great Blizzard of 2013 arrived with incredible snowfall rates, howling winds, coastal flooding, and epic totals. Thanks for solid forecasting, most everyone was safe at home to ride out the storm. What is your biggest memory of this major storm?

Groceries in 2023. Stupid high prices to wait in a long line to check myself out. Make a mistake and get scolded by a female computer voice, wait for “help”, bag my own things and play Frogger to survive the walk back to my car. Oh and the bags tear too easy! Why?
*This is everything** A 15 to 20 degree drop in the dew point is the most overdue weather occurrence in months. Breathe it in people!! Comfortable air is here for a while!

On this last full day of Winter, I'd like to thank winter for reminding how much I love the other 3 seasons we enjoy here in CT. Oh, I like winter and skiing/snowshoeing/hiking in winter...but you have a bad habit of sticking around a little bit too long. Bye-bye!!
I honestly fear for our species sometimes. A simple tweet about the high level of complaining going on about snow in March and April, led to some incredibly sad and angry replies. Times are rough and people are generally triggered by innocent comments. Just breathe and smile!
Social media warning to all in the northeast U.S. Meteorologists are bored with endless sunny winter days, general population is 50/50 on wanting snow, and there is something to track. This means ENDLESS model posting, just like this one!! Tuesday *could* be interesting!

Sometimes words don’t do justice. Kait was/is an absolute joy to be around. Life is more than rain/snow/ storms…she lit up the office when she arrived and it will dim the day she leaves. A wonderful human being as well as colleague. This happens a lot in our business…1/2
After 6 wonderful years in Connecticut, I’m heading to DC!🇺🇸I am thrilled to announce that I will be joining the team at

Good morning. I have decided to pull the highest snowfall potential amounts SOUTH as almost all the overnight data has done this. A FOOT or more is possible in Groton, New Haven, Waterbury, Hartford, and Middletown. Lesser amounts will be to the north, near the MASS border.

The 154th Commencement at

was a very special occasion. My daughter in the Class of ‘22, me in ‘87 and my sister ‘79 all enjoyed a wet but meaningful ceremony this morning. Fly Kate Fly!
Winter Storm Warnings are issued for the entire state and you could argue that Blizzard Warnings maybe needed! We have upped our snowfall forecast and we may not be done raising it! Here we goooooo!

Was the weekend heat too much for you? Did you find it UNBEARABLE? This black bear found a great way to stay cool....using the ice chips from the

Guinness is tired of the rain too. More rain rolls in later tomorrow and we will get pounded by heavy rain and flooding is a real concern. More on this all day on
@NBCConnecticut
But a cute dog makes it all ok, right?
It's time for a snow map with the possible accumulation total by Sunday afternoon. Snow begins Saturday evening. More data streams in every minute and this has to be considered adjustable!! First look with updates to follow. Lower impact w/it happening on a weekend.

Please sit down. Breathe deeply and come to the realization that it will not rain or snow today. There will be no fog or drizzle, steady mist or pouring rain. Nope, nothing....nada, zero. Partly to mostly sunny today and tomorrow and just some clouds at Midnight. HNY!!

Lots of images and videos of this tornado in Colebrook last evening around 6:45 pm. There is little doubt in my mind that this is a tornado. SO RARE to get clear video like this in the NE. Usually rain wrapped! Undetected by radar and only one damage report!

Unbelievable way to turn 53. 3 day member/guest at

with my old bud Steve R. Including Practice round we walked 81 holes and 26 miles. Since I hit it sideways, I was closer to 30!! So much fun. New friends and good memories!
I love sports and always want to think clean and proper. Does anyone who watched that semifinal fell clean and free? The refs decided the game. Tough look.
Great day for a snowshoe in

Long range forecasting is always challenging but there is a strong signal for warmer than normal temps from multiple long range weather models for early to mid April. Thus the Climate Prediction Center has assigned a 70% probability of warmer than normal temps in

Why not? We might go from the chill of March to the heat of summer! Next weeks pattern is looking quite warm!! (80s and 90s??) Man, do I love New England!

With so much volatility still in the forecast, I believe this is a decent launching pad. No forecast is going to be perfect right out of the box 48 hrs before impacts begin, but more snow E, less snow W, plowable amounts likely. I have 2 disregard the complete miss 4 now.
