In conclusion, ichigo’s really very skilled in combat, he’s also an underrated swordsman. Zanjutsu is basically shown to be based on what the wielder’s techniques are and their will to elevate said techniques and of course sword skill. Ichigo of course, masters his own style.

-ichigo’s skills were on full display in his battle with gin. Ichigo was weaker than gin at the time and had to rely mostly on skill to go head to head with gin. -ichigo reads gin and knows when to dodge and deflect his attacks, which gin acknowledges.

-as you can see, the eyes on yhwach weren’t open anymore after getting hit by the arrow. ichigo takes advantage of this and tries to deliver the finishing blow. Yhwach ends up breaking the sheath which is the white part. -the sheath/white part breaks releasing zangetsu.

-(true)shikai ichigo gained a profound understanding of his zanpakuto. ichigo has dual blades, which represents his hollow and Quincy powers. True shikai has techniques that are a big part of ichigo’s moveset. -(true)bankai we have no idea what it does yet, but yhwach feared it.

-yhwach breaks fake Kyoka Suigetsu, and look at the cracks, it’s the same as the cracks on fake ichigo’s sword. - aizen got knocked away and fake ichigo appears, as you can see, fake ichigo has a part of zabimaru on him.
