To clear up some confusion: The owner of a district inherantly owns all parcels within in. If those have not been inscribed and tapped, then selling the district will transfer those parcels to the new owner. Continues in thread...

Just released possibly the most important update to #bitmap so far... You can now view blocks being claimed LIVE - within seconds of a new block (depending on your connection). Previously we throttled the requests to protect the indexer. Let's hope it doesn't explode. 🤞

We've seen a few people mentioning that it's not ideal that our map has 500 blocks per row (within an epoch), as they were basing their claims on Ordinals Wallet's earlier map which has 1000 blocks per row... What do the community think? 🤔 We may also move to a vertical layout

Worth noting: the only reason we have 500 per row at the moment was that this was the closest we could get to a 1x1 ratio per epoch (500x420), and we'd already implemented this before Ordinals Wallet released their map. In an effort to get it out quickly, we just released as is.

Update: there is a weird text bug on Chrome for Android (and maybe others), but it works fine if you view it in Incognito. We spent a long time trying to fix this, with mixed results. Not sure what's causing it. It may be a bug with the latest version of Chrome.

@8bitsats Respons to current convo: I fee like people immediately assume that earlier blocks, those mined by Satoshi, etc, will be worth more, but the way I see it is... we don't know what's going to be worth a lot yet. It depends on the adopters. It's up to the community.

@InBestProgram The rules for claiming a bitmap district are: 1. A block with that number must exist when the bitmap was inscribed 2. The inscription must match exactly 123.bitmap for example (no caps, no spaces, no leading zeros) The first inscription that meets these criteria is the owner.

@CH90722480 You have to tap the district each time you inscribe parcels. You can inscribe any number of parcels before you tap. But without the tap, the inscriptions won't mean anything.

@balancepath Parcels = transactions within that block. Early blocks don't have many transactions. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, as low number blocks have other values (and may some time have even more value), and some will pay good money for them.

@Etherglyphics 1st inscription after the block exists is the verified claim according to the bitmap standard, however others may adopt other standards that allow the use of future block claims, duplicates, those with leading zeros, or negative block IDs.

I guess that's up to the marketplaces/collections for how they're listed. 🤷 If anywhere is just checking for inscriptions with ".bitmap" then they'll appear in the same lists as the OG bitmaps. Otherwise they might update at some point to list these separately.

@themattyverse @jlock0202 uses the official bitmap indexer built by @trac_btc , so that should be your source of truth. Not sure why Magic Eden would say otherwise. I imagine there's an issue with what they think are the rules for bitmap ownership.

@Deafnutz Parcel and district sales are handled by marketplaces and only transfer the ordinals in exchange for BTC. None of these transactions know about the district-parcel relationship... but that's not to say that something along these lines couldn't enter the bitmap standard some time.

@InBestProgram I'm guessing the ❓ means that there are multiple inscriptions for that bitmap. If that's the case, then the first inscription (whilst that block existed) is the owner. Much easier to just use to check this stuff though. 😉

@heynanno Okay, it's really just not working right now. If I were to guess how you do this (based on quickly watching a video)... Go to your wallet Copy your address Go to your insriptions Click "Transfer" on the xxx.bitmap you want to transfer Paste in the address you copied

@MbitKing As it stands you can verify if any parcels have been inscribed by the owner in before you agree to buy a district from anyone. If they're purple, you won't receive them. We'll definitely be looking into ways to better visualize this kind of thing. 😁
