i dont think the dsmp could ever be done in any other form of media because part of what made it so interesting was all of the different povs and things happening all at once and small insignificant moments that turned into huge plotlines
i dont know if anyone else remembers this but i so distinctly remember that when ranboo first joined the dsmp everyone headcanoned him and cniki as siblings for like a day and then they all forgot
i think part of what makes ctommy so compelling is that he's not a perfect victim, far from it actually. he's loud and antagonistic and annoying and he's done bad things, and it doesn't mean he deserved any of what happened.
i greatly admire the dsmp fandom's ability to steal the characters from shitty ccs. if we're being honest, the fandom always carried the story and the characters always belonged more to the community than the creators.
when ctommy realizes hes being too loud, he cuts himself off and apologizes a lot for being annoying. he never used to be that aware. for some reason, it bothers people more than him being loud ever did.
i think too many people treat limbo like the dsmp version of hell, but it isnt. its just... limbo. people create fan limbos for dsmp characters that are just personal torture chambers but that just goes against what limbo is meant to be.
thinking about how the older smp members simultaneously treated ctommy like a little kid while also expecting him to handle difficult situations like an adult
cpuffy told ctommy to try journaling. he really enjoyed it for a while, until an entry showed up in someone elses handwriting. he stopped writing in it after that.
ctubbo and ctommy got into an argument once, a real screaming match. ctommy shut down, sputtering apology after apology. ctubbo was horrified, however, when the apologies were not directed at him, but at cdream.
sometimes ctommy wakes up ctubbo in the middle of the night, shaking him and hyperventilating, telling ctubbo that cdream is there and that hes going to take him again. ctubbo always bolts up and grabs his weapons, ready to fight, but theres never anyone there.
as loud and hotheaded as ctommy was, he really was more of a follower than a leader. he needed someone to guide him, and every single one of those people failed him.
people have noticed how flinchy ctommy has gotten. at first, they would use it to mess with him: they'd drop something to make him jump, or sneak up behind him
to scare him. it was fun until he started cowering, acting like he was bracing for a hit.
sometimes ctommy is jealous that cniki got to keep cwilburs coat and he didnt. he would never say it though. he doesnt want to take anything else from her.
there were no schools on the smp. the lmanberg kids were taught in a makeshift classroom, learning english and math alongside how to fire a bow and tie a tourniquet.
i choose to believe that it isnt that the gods look like cdream, but rather that cdream tried his best to look like the gods. he started wearing his mask after meeting XD for the first time.
thinking about how ctommy was taught by everyone he looked up to that violence was the only way to solve problems, and those same people later turned on him for using violence to solve problems
after ctommy got revived, he got reckless. he stopped taking care of himself. any time someone told him he was going to get himself killed, he would just shake his head and say "no, he wouldn't let me die."
cjack noticed ctommy shivering post-revival. he said nothing and hardly even looked him in the eye as he offered him his sweater. the cold was a feeling he knew all too well.
i am so awful at remembering the dsmp timeline. like what happens at what point in time. what things happen simultaneously. who knows what at this point in the timeline. where am i
i imagine that many of the dsmp characters get "phantom pain" of their canon deaths. sometimes cjack feels like hes being burnt alive again. sometimes ctubbo feels the fireworks explode his face. sometimes cwilbur feels the sword through his chest
i think i would be awful in something like the dsmp because i would never be able to tell what was and wasnt in character. id be like "when you told me to die did you mean it :(" in dms
