Animal lover , Vegan ,played a bit of footy + do a bit of art. I do a weekly podcast named Total BS + and Facebook + YouTube live .discussing my team Boro f c
The amount of times, I have received this clip in the last week is ridiculous. Is the story true ? Yes .Do I still have the shirt ? No. Im glad Roy didn’t tell the story about my boots .
On the subject of football shirts - this is my no 15 squad number from Italia 90 World Cup ,signed by every player and the late great Jack Charlton Republic of Ireland manager.
Jog complete, don't forget to get in your daily exercise. While jogging with this inspirational shirt on - I was going thru the Lisbon Lions team Simpson,Craig,Gemmell, Murdoch, McNeil, Clark,Johnstone,Wallace,Chalmers, Auld,Lennox. Manager - Jock Stein
Walking about Whitby + this man named Steve stopped me + pulled out a £20 note stuck it my hand + said I never made your testimonial game as I was working away + I’ve always said i would give you this ,if I ever bumped into you. (Unbelievable )
Keep smiling Mogga, it won’t be long till you’re back in a job. I suppose getting into the play offs last season and 3 pts off top 6 this is classed as failure at Sunderland. Let’s see how they do without you. Sack the guys responsible for bringing players in + letting them go .
28 years ago today,I scored my 147th + last goal for Middlesbrough Football Club against Manchester United’s Peter Schmeichel in front of a packed Holgate End . (How time flies )
The so called Boro fans who were hurling abuse at Yusuf are nothing but a bunch of uneducated scumbags, toe rags + don’t represent the club I played for or support.
Paddy McNair has had his fair share of criticism this season, but today in Boro’s high profile game against Coventry he was outstanding. Well done Paddy + the team. Bring on Wednesday
Woke up this morning to hear the very sad News that Big Jack had passed away - condolences to his family. My memories of Jack will last forever. If there is a heaven which I believe there is, then Jack will certainly be welcome as he was a one of footballs great guys.
Just came across Itinerary + flight tickets from 1970 - magnificent memories as a youngster . My late father had promised me if Celtic beat Leeds Utd in the two legged semi final , he would take me to the European cup final - for a young lad from a council estate it was a dream.
This pic takes pride of place - the day we relegated Chelsea in their own back yard. Ever since this day I have despised Chelsea after 1,000s of their hooligan fans ran on the pitch + caused chaos. I hope we can knock them out the FA cup that would be memorable. UTB
My Boro shirt from 85/86 season was handed to me today for my Birthday- it was found in Dublin. I had collected all my number 7 shirts from 85- 92 while play for Middlesbrough but this one had disappeared. Now my collection is complete. Thanks to Neil, Claire + Tony.
Just woke up ,flicked on the tv to find some irate idiotic woman moan ,groan + complain about some M+S window dummy wearing female underwear - she is highly offended she classes it as sexist. I’m glad she didint pass Binn’s window when I flashed my Arse.
Boro 86 squad - Relegation - Liquidation - Bankrupt - followed by 3rd 2nd 1st in consecutive seasons . Unique period + squad. No need for this group of players to kiss the badge - They were Loyal, Faithful + Successful - majority local lads . UTB
My last Goal celebration for Middlesbrough F.C. against Manchester Utd on this day Oct 3rd in the Premier League back in 92. Sharing Goals in front of the Holgate fans meant everything to me.The Holgate was mesmerising + fanatical. ( memories last a lifetime ) UTB
Happy Birthday to Boro’s Greatest ever manager Bruce Rioch, Guiding Boro from the ashes of relegation + on the verge liquidation to 3rd 2nd 1st in consecutive seasons with no money was a remarkable achievement with the majority of players local lads.
With Morgan Rogers gone , Kavanagh gone, Latte Lath injured Coburn carrying an injury and with no sign of a striker at Boro, I’m going to dust off the boots just in case. I don’t think I could do the 90 mins on Sunday but I could come off the bench, remember it’s only Sunderland
Just found this Morton shirt in a bag in the loft.I was a only a fringe player back then Benny Rooney was the manager Mike Jackson his assistant. The King of Cappielow was Andy Ritchie what a great human being ,what a player.Andy played a massive part in my development as a player
They chased us off the pitch at Stamford bridge in 88 - They beat us at Wembley in the Zenith cup final in 90 - They beat us in the FA cup final in 97 + They beat us in the League cup final in 98 . Good Luck to the Boro today ,my adrenaline is so high I feel as if I am playing.
Just heard the tragic news that former teammate Jon Gittens has past away. Jon was a Great Pro, Character + will always be remembered for his vital Goal against Wolves which got us promoted into the Premiership. RIP + condolences to his family.
My old mate Kav must be as proud as punch. His son Cal scored a hat trick in Boro’s under 23 game against Sunderland - that’s now 14 goals in 14 games . I have always said a striker scores goals , to many modern strikers forget why they play up front .
Just switched on talk sport - I don’t know who the double act are , but what I do know is they have no warmth charm or talent on the air . Both of them tried to ridicule a caller without a fun element, they came across as arrogant know it all tosses , I’ve switched off.
Only one name excites me out of all those being linked with the managers job at Middlesbrough ,Slavisa Jokanovic. He has all the qualities that we require + desire.
Full time 1-0 Boro - exciting ,chances galore , workrate + closing down terrific, Well Done Boro what a Great start to the season - Bring on Dirty Leeds.
So the Wolves boss refused yet again to shake the opposing team managers hand - last week Tony Pulis - last night Neil Warnock. I laughed when Warnock told him to F### off - Warnock’s language is not as offensive as someone refusing to shake your hand in my opinion.
What a Great Player this guy was Leeds Utd Legend Eddie Gray - both of us came from the same council estate in Glasgow, Castlemilk. Eddie also coached at Boro under the Bruce Rioch era. Great guy
Looking forward to my former team mate, captain + pal Mogga returning to the Riverside tomorrow with Blackburn. A man of Morals, Honesty + Integrity. Not a lot of people in Football possess those qualities.
Unique group sampled Relegation,Liquidation Bankruptcy Unpaid, gates locked, trained in local parks, washed own kit.contracts broken. Majority local Loyal,Successful, wore the shirt with Pride, cost peanuts. Could have all walked away but stayed +went 3rd2nd3rd in successive seasons
Whenever I hear Middlesbrough playing at Hartlepool’s ground ,it reminds me of us using there facilities to play our opening game against Port Vale after the club came so close to Liquidation. as Ayresome park gates were closed. Up the Pools + the Boro
The problem i have as a former professional footballer who played in a professional mans league who was fortunate enough to pick up several MAN of the match awards and continue to watch the Professional Mans game to change one word to please the half wits out there is offensive.
My shirt + tracksuit from 31 years ago when Middlesbrough played at Wembley for the 1st time in the clubs history, unfortunately we lost 1-0 to Chelsea.
There was no need for the blue tablets on Fri night after watching Middlesbrough -after witnessing 5 years of boring negative football - to be finally served football that was Slick, Penetrating,Flooding the opponents box+hitting the target 3 times was like watching a blue movie
Good luck to Tony Mowbray who has been appointed Sunderland's New head coach. A man I respect greatly. a man of Honesty,Integrity + Morals not a lot of people in football have those qualities. Good Luck Mogga
Just been brought to my attention that 31 years ago on this date Oct 3rd 1992 ,I scored my 147th and last goal for Middlesbrough football Club against Manchester Utd’s Peter Schmeichel in front of a packed Holgate end at Ayresome park. Memories last a lifetime . UTB
Really looking forward to the League cup quarter Final - Port Vale v Boro. Both clubs formed in 1876 and both performed at Wembley for the 1st time in their clubs history in 1990 + 1992. These are 2 unwashed shirts from the games.
Good Luck to Stu Downing at Blackburn Rovers ,I’m sure Mogga’s style will suit him better than AK or TPs . Ive watched his development since he was a kid ,I’ve always been a fan, sometimes your not appreciated as a home grown lad as much as you would be if you arrive from abroad
A guys just came over to me in the Parkway centre purchased a book, pointed the finger + said your the reason I met my wife. How’s that ? I was in a packed Holgate end you scored and I ended up cuddling a stranger who I ended up marrying - surely I can’t be responsible for that ?
Great meeting up with Captain Fantastic Tony Mowbray (Mogga ) and Mark Proctor (Proco) yesterday. Thanks to Middlesbrough football club for inviting us on to the pitch at half time and presenting us with our legacy number’s. Magnificent to see Mogga in such great form. IDOL
Looking forward to doing Summarising tonight for MIddlesbrough f c Riverside live - this is the 1st game I’ve done since working alongside the late Great Ally Brownlee (life is about choice finally the public have it ) Good Luck to Boro tonight against Sheffield Utd . UTB
Was having a coffee ,when this big lad approached me when I lifted my head it was my former Port Vale team mate Keith Houchen . Remember his flying header for Coventry in the FA cup final against Spurs .
Just heard that a woman a few days ago, wrote a letter to a Stokesley restaurant complaining that her and her husband were greeted by “Hi Guys” both found it highly offensive. Come on Guys get a life for Fck sake . This world is Bonkers.
Congratulations to Middlesbrough’s Adama Traore on Winning Players Player of the Year - Young Player of the Year + Player of the Year (Well Deserved) UTB
Sorted for the game tomorrow- like to thank all at Port Vale Football Club for the invitation I genuinely appreciate it. Looking forward to the game and meeting a few familiar faces. Especially John Rudge
