Councilmembers (all Democrats) followed this vote by refusing to expand the Amazon Tax to make the richest companies pay a *tiny* amount more. Instead, they chose to cut social programs and put the burden of this crisis on working people and marginalized communities. Shameful

This is exactly right. We cannot believe for a one moment that Howard Schultz will recognize the union unless he is absolutely forced to do so by the strength of Starbucks workers' organizing. Winning requires being absolutely clear about what we're up against.

The only reason Howard Schultz, with his vicious union-busting record, is back is to carry out an even more ruthless campaign to try & defeat the Starbucks union drive! We need to escalate the unionizing movement & discuss a fighting approach in response!

This this this. The recall is just one more method of voter suppression against the tens of thousands of people in Seattle who have re-elected Kshama three (3) times. This is a test case for the right wing to add to their arsenal of attacks against the left.

Eric how do you propose we avert climate disaster, from within the Democratic Party? I ask bc if I recall, you think we don't need a new party (one that isn't owned by the billionaires and corporations that have brought us on the brink of climate collapse)?

“Progressive” council member Andrew Lewis sided with landlords in watering down a bill to cap late fees at $10 for renters, but there's still time for him to change his mind.

This is a huge deal. It's a *global pandemic* which means that no one is safe from COVID until all of us are. Bill Gates & Big Pharma are holding life-saving vaccines hostage for profit and Biden must be pressured to end this immediately.

@LewisforSeattle @NoelFrame @36th If @NoelFrame is such a dedicated progressive it should be no problem for her to openly oppose preemption, reducing, or phasing out Seattle's Amazon Tax (see: progressive revenue). Instead, she's retweeting support for @cmkshama to be recalled by big business & the right wing.

ah turns out poor people and the oppressed can have "love" and "kindness" as long as that doesn't mean a living wage, healthcare, or a place to live
