It is actually pretty ironic that #BharatForge is supplying #Armenia with 84 #ATAGS guns while the #Indianarmy , multiple times the size, spread across multiple times the area will have 307 on order (order not placed yet). The MGS is going to take 7 more years per the company for

For our audience, let me explain in extremely simple terms why most #Indian analysts crib about every purchase that isnt local. 32 Rafales costed $11 billion adj for inflation 180 Tejas Mk 1A costed $14.2 billion adj for inflation. 30% more money gives 4.6 times more jets.

Hopping onto the #Tejas vs #MRFA debate again. I agree that the #MRFA is needed pretty badly. Current fleet of the #Indianairforce is around 600 to 700 fighter aircraft (happy to be corrected). 180 Mk 1 + Mk 1A is about 1/3rd of the fleet. 120 or so more Mk 2 means IAF is....

#Opinion : Stop spending time and $ on Tejas Mk2 and spend it on AMCA Honestly, the best way forward seems to be to do AMCA first and then do Mk2, take care of nos and capability. *I do understand Mk2 is in far advanced design state than AMCA, should be frozen and revisited later.

Looks like #IndianNavy 's next Talwar future Tushil left the shipyard for another set of sea trials. If you zoom in, you can see the top of the Shtil VL doors. The stern has an VDS opening like her sisters, but not present. Maybe installed when she arrives at her homeport.

You know the biggest tactical challenge for #Pakistan and its #airforce is not that #Indianairforce holds such a large qualitative and quantitative superiority. It is how its two premier platforms can never be data linked.

I saw a BAFFLING take regarding the recent slew of crashes of #HALDhruv , blaming #HAL for them as the control rods allowed for improper assembly. Why BAFFLING? Aircraft maintenance has detailed manuals with everything a tech needs to do. They are trained on the machine for years.

#Indians and #IndianNavy have all the building blocks of building a domestic SSK. You have local hull design capabilities for Arihant, you have manufactured multiple subs at home, you have torpedoes and cruise missiles in works. If you can field a SSBN made at home, SSK is easy.

I was quoted on an thread claiming that the #IndianNavy also does token purchases. It is simply not the case, wherever possible, I have seen them consolidate on platforms to bring commonality. I'll try to list as many I can off the top of my head, feel free to add.

Looks like my thread on Kamorta class ruffled some feathers and also showed that not a lot of people know about #ASW so here is a thread. Please correct me if I am wrong. Pictures are of #ChineseNavy 's Type 054A's #Chinese VDS and and #IndianNavy 's Talwar class VDS #εpsilon

To me the #Tejas #Mk1A discourse is very interesting. On one hand, delivering 32 aircraft per year is a step in the right direction, as it regenerates about 2 #Indianairforce squadrons per year. With 83 + 100 (TBC) on order, all deliveries can happen in 6-8 years.

The funniest thing with #Indianarmy artillery orders seems to be that the idea of long lead time orders + tech insertion is lost on them. What I mean is, look at the hodge podge orders. 145 #M777 100 K-9 & future 300 gun #ATAGS order. Reports suggest 400 TGS + 200 105mm MGS
