A useful piece of advice for young players from Joel Berry. Said his world changed when he stopped blaming coaches for not playing and asked himself what he had done to earn their trust on the court:
After Luke Maye's freshman season, Roy said a UNC assistant had doubts about his future: "I had one coach say, ‘You like Luke a lot more than everybody else does.’ I said, ‘That’s right, and I’m the frickin' head coach, and that makes a difference.’"
Kenny Williams brings the Smith Center to its feet, talking to Roy: “Everybody in this building knows how much you care about winning on the court, but everybody on that bench knows how much you care about us winning in life.”
Just 10 days ago,
@Tre3Jones
' mom was diagnosed with breast cancer.
On Saturday, he delivered one of his best performances of the season. He's led Duke's fight all season , and now, his teammates will follow him in the fight to get home to Minneapolis:
Two of the games’s best coaches, one of college basketball’s best offenses, two programs that defend better than anyone, two lottery picks and a couple of other first-round picks?
If that’s boring to you, it’s because you don’t actually enjoy basketball.
NEW EXTRA POINTS:
I've been calling around, and here is what else I've learned about the group license program for EA Sports College Football, along with a few other tidbits about the development process of the game:
.
@Scientist_Mike
confirms he’s coming back to get his degree. Says it’s better than the alternative of an uncertain shot at the NFL and landing at Goodburger:
UNC lost by 17 at Michigan on Nov. 28, 2018.
UNC lost by 18 vs. Michigan State on Nov. 26, 2017.
UNC lost by 9 at Indiana on Nov. 30, 2016.
UNC lost by 4 at Northern Iowa on Nov. 21, 2015.
It's almost like this happens every year, and things end up mostly fine.
Question to Coby White: Why should they be scared of you guys coming into Cameron?
His reply: "Because we’re going to win; we’re going to win. They know we’re coming to compete, we’re not going to back down from nobody and we've got one of the greatest coaches on our side."
Here's Kevin Keatts' full quote on Eric Lockett going to shoot at the Dail after not playing against UNC, and what he hopes it means for the program + how he thinks Lockett embodies NC State.
“Makin' love is like hitting a baseball, you just gotta relax and concentrate,” a wise woman once said.
Thankfully, I relaxed and concentrated. Even more thankfully, she said yes.
Walking up to the Smith Center, hear a dad point it out to his son. Kid reacted like he’s going to Disney World.
Always a good reminder of why most of us got started in this weird, wild career.
Turns out, there is a college basketball champion in Durham this month after all: Jay Huff and his entourage just walked past and I’m reminded that I’m short.
Asked about the change in the program,
@ACraw92
brought something up on his own: "I can’t help but to thank
@CoachFedora
first though. Obviously he brought me —everybody in my class — here.”
RJ Barrett, first six games up to Gonzaga loss: 51/125 (12/38 3p); 22.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, 4 assists.
RJ Barrett, past four games since Gonzaga loss: 40/65 FG (10/21 3p); 26.2 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists.
"Less composed seagulls are attempting to leave through the other closed windows. The result was a tornado of seagull excrement, feathers, pepperoni chunks and fairly large birds whipping around the room.”
@katiederosayyj
did the damn thing.
How did
@PackFootball
take control of recruiting in NC?
It started with Dave Doeren inviting
@gopacknow
to a rainy practice. What followed is the Close-King indoor facility, bowl games, NFL Draft success and assistants like
@AaronHenry7
:
The year is 2051 and the final brick is laid. Durham is now one apartment building owned by Amazon. Pod Save America plays over loudspeakers. The brewerycourt floor is overrun by goldendoodles. Somehow, Moogfest is year-round. The nets prevent me from jumping off the roof.
.
@CoachMackBrown
and the new UNC football staff are making in-state recruiting a priority. They've already made a good impression with HS coaches: "I’ve probably heard more from them than I’ve heard in the last couple of years, so I’m very excited."
