When you take away someone’s DSP - forcing them to rely on their partner’s income- you take their independence, too. You leave them vulnerable to financial abuse, & make it harder for them to escape DV. Intimate partner =/= personal carer Their income =/= substitute for DSP

The PM e̶a̶r̶n̶s̶ gets $549,250 per year. That same amount could carry 18 people above the poverty line. I'm not suggesting this is how we fix poverty; I'm saying our PM is a complete waste of resources & that his salary & pension could be better spent by almost *anyone* else.

Raising Jobseeker to the poverty line isn’t going to encourage people to stay unemployed. Raising Jobseeker *will* prevent people from being forced into/remaining in shit, abusive, and/or unsafe working environments; & allow them the opportunity to transition into better jobs.

Just finished reading the 40 page decision on my case!! Added up what the Member agreed I was entitled to (even tho I wasn’t given the opportunity to make submissions) & the grand total *would’ve* been $27,572.38 Unfortunately, NCAT regs limit compensation to tenants to $15k 🥲

I finally have an appointment to see a rheumatologist on Feb 22. The fee is $360 with $136 rebate. However, if my DSP claim is approved by then (unlikely), it's discounted to $230. $360 is 49% of my current fortnightly JobSeeker payment. Rent is $540. See the issue? @Centrelink

my pension came through ..$100 short. after rent, I have $159 to survive the fortnight: - specialist appt ~$300 - cat food ~$40 - parasite prevention ~$40 - laundry ~$15/load - food ~$200 DSP is insufficient at the full rate; having it cut back w/o notice is just cruel.

Putting out furniture I lost to The Mould & A Man asked to take my beautiful armchairs. I asked if he could use a staple gun & gave him a roll of jute webbing. He was - tall - strong - handsome - able to use basic hand tools - excited about hard rubbish Big Hunky BF Vibes 🥵

update: crying I lost so much of my vintage furniture to the mould. Ik they’re just things, but I worked damn hard for them & to make a home for myself. After some assholes ruined it, I had to accept it wasn’t coming back. This is the most wonderful gift I could’ve asked for♥️
