i have my house of the dragon/fire and blood tattoo done 🖤
inspired by the battle above the gods eye, daemon's targaryen last fight.
(it took five hours and my arm is on fire but i'm happy!)
Daemon: being angry and cursing everyone all episode 1 because Rhaenyra left alone
Daemon as soon as Rhaenyra returns: did you find what you need? 🥺🥰🥺🥰🥺🥰
I hate more than anything when bullied characters forgive the bully. Rhaenyra was harassed, harmed and abused. Alicent turned people against her. She raised her sons to hate her. Luke paid the price, and thousands after him.
so this is basically the key to daemon's growth, bc even knowing he is going to die, he won't run, and will fight for rhaenyra till the end. for the first, he's not gonna leave 😭
what happens when season 3 ends on rhaenyra being happily pregnant but it's the reason why daemon realizes he must take down aemond knowing he won't return just so she doesnt loose another child
Jace telling her that she never really cared about luke dying is a valid emotion/frustration to have, his brother got brutally murdered and she punished the one person who avenged him then proceeded to try and make amends with his murderers
au rhaenyra ran away, she lives in hiding, far and alone - almost.
One night she is awaken by a shadow chanting her name.
She thinks he might be the devil - until daemon steps into the light, her baby in his arms, softly whispering
"You never told me that I had a son."
'where were you?' daemon asks when his niece returns, wearing rags. 'you'll need a better disguise the next time you want to escape, my love.'
rhaenyra scoffs.
'you should have kept me in a tower if you're that worried i will leave.'
a smirk.
'hmm. dangerous words, princess.'
if you can't see the beauty of two yearning soulmates going at it a (convenient) funeral, perhaps this story isn't for you. it's the decade they spent apart that they are burrying, it is good reason to celebrate.
right before bed, rhaenyra always tells her sons stories.
'sometimes the prince isn't made to save the princess, to free her from her tower,' she warns them. 'sometimes, he is the dragon.'
daemon always smirks.
'come here, princess. if your prince is a dragon... ride it.'
"By tradition, he was expected to wed only his older sister, Visenya; the inclusion of Rhaenys as a second wife was unusual, though not without precedent. It was said by some that Aegon wed Visenya out of duty and Rhaenys out of desire."
People in the quotes acting as if this wasn't the character who jumped off his dragon and destroyed the biggest threat against her reign to prove his loyalty when he lost her trust
he wasn't supposed to return from the war, he was supposed to be dead.
he must be a demon, or a devil.
with bated braith, the king asks.
'what is it you want?'
daemon already knows - so does the princess.
'rhaenyra,' he says, he commands. 'i will take rhaenyra.'
trapped in his visions, the rogue prince stares at another version of rhaenyra. the one he loves. the one he lost.
his wife strokes her womb.
'is that what you wanted?'
he finds naught to say.
'you can have us both,' she promises. 'all you need to do is stay. forever.'
out of despair to get her away from daemon, viserys tricked his daughter into drinking a memory loss potion.
now Rhaenyra has forgotten who she was, who she loved. She doesn't know this man, holding on to her, quietly whispering:
'remember, my love. Please, remember...'
rhaenyra when she flies to harrenhal to bring her husband home after weeks without word but daemon has lost track of time in that hopeless place and doesn’t know if this is real or not
'they did it,' the princess whispered. 'my father, my son, my daughter. my only daughter.'
daemon stared, wordlessly.
'they need to pay, uncle. a thousand times.'
'Make it a wish, rhaenyra. wish it, and it will be done.'
'How?'
daemon stroked her face.
'A son for a son.'
daemon looking at rhaenyra like ‘please notice me! please baby girl im sorry. im here everything is going to be fine :(‘ SMILING A LITTLE AT HER AS IF TO REASSURE HER and she’s just like ‘you did this to us, but i still want you :(‘
when rhaenyra begs him not to go and he swears he won't they spend one last time together and she understands he went at dawn because syrax cries THEN WHAT
Daemon knew about his death in Harrenhal from Alys and he still go there to fight Rhaenyra's biggest obstacle. He is ready to d!e for his beloved wife🥺
rhaenyra is the only woman he touches to connect with, every other time he touches another it's not cute, it's to dismiss their wishes. With the others he doesn't want to speak. In terms of portraying it's brilliant. It tells us everything we need to know.
i'm gonna be honest, i understand why rhaenyra had three babies with daemon in 6 years. THAT LOOK??? she was ovulating just by looking at him, i know it!
daemon was drowning when he left rhaenyra the first time
he was drowning when he lived without her for 10 years
he was drowning in nightmares when not sleeping by her side
darkness isn't the bottom of a lake, it's a life without rhaenyra.
daemon is the only man in the realm that doesn't push for sons and you're determined to make him the worst of villains with one single sentence delivered by a possible snake
'you can't convince me they were happy' and it's daemon and rhaenyra literally glowing with life, it's almost like they're the love story authors actually cared to write
rhaenyra's heart is hallow when she agrees to marry her cousin when the king reminds her of the possibility of a fight.
little does she know that her uncle has heard, in his exile.
and in the dead of the night, daemon comes for her.
ready to spark a war.
a day has passed since their last fight, and rhaenyra has locked herself in their chamber, banishing her husband from their bed, and refusing to come out.
one night apart is more than daemon can bear - all he can do is crumble and beg for her to let him in.
'you will die in this place,' alys foretells, but daemon doesn't tremble.
rhaenyra's voice still haunting him.
'when i do, i'll dream of home.
back to her.'
You're all getting it wrong, daemon drinks alys' potions because he prefers rhaenyra's ghost to haunt him, torment him, punishing him, than the thought of her leaving him
out of despair to get her away from daemon, viserys tricked his daughter into drinking a memory loss potion.
now Rhaenyra has forgotten who she was, who she loved. She doesn't know this man, holding on to her, quietly whispering:
'remember, my love. Please, remember...'
“I’m certain that you’re my safe space. That I can be exactly who I am with you, and you won’t judge me for it. You’ll actually love me for it. And I want to be that safe space for you, too. I want you to think of me and my arms as your place of comfort.”
anyone here wondered about what daemon would’ve done if rhaenyra died first? i’m convinced he and caraxes would’ve torched the whole realm and some more…
just me? 🤔🔥
People being mad he didnt defend himself more about the command he gave fail to remember he never denied calling baelon 'the heir for a day' either when it was meant to be a tribute not a slight. Trust is broken he cares not to advocate for himself and he's so real for that
Daemon will look at rhaenyra the same way when she comes to bring him home and realize that if he must lose his life for her sake, then he'll welcome the Stranger with a smile
hades and persephone au
they lived in the ruins of the old valyria for months, until viserys found a way to reach them, and demand his daughter's return.
but rhaenyra cannot go back, not really. she's no longer daemon's captive - she is his wife.
daemon and rhaenyra are going to reconcile, mysaria will fill like loosing her queen to daemon, that's how and why she will strive to turn her against him and he'll willingly go to his demise to prove he was her greatest ally all along
The tragedy if there is one is that alicent set herself up. It's not that it's too late or that rhaenyra cannot follow. She broke everyone bond, she was her enemy longer than her friend. I enjoy some content between them but this scene was just so out of space.
his niece disappeared a decade ago, she jumped off a cliff to avoid an arranged mariage.
yet daemon swears it: he saw her in the waves when his ship sank. they all believe he lost his mind, but he knows the truth. rhaenyra is alive - she just lives under the sea.
alicent's back hurting from trying to maintain peace and decency in times of war 🥺 (she stole another woman's throne, executed her followers, installed her rotten son in her stead under false pretenses and led to the destruction of many kingdoms)
A list of what we were actually robbed of: Daemon's courtship, him placing eggs in his sons' craddles as he told Rhaenyra he would, the reactions to their wedding, him being ✨️ ever at her side ✨️ and Rhaenyra being finally respected and treated as she should have been
'come with me,' daemon said, 'and i will end this war.'
rhaenyra agreed.
'I'll be yours in the dark, but our son will be free. one day, he might be strong enough to defy you in daylight.'
the devil smiled.
'then i shall keep the day and night apart myself, princess.'
au rhaenyra has escaped the devil's grip - but daemon is patient.
'You won’t go far,' he promises. 'I will find you, I will scour the earth for you.'
rhaenyra laughs.
'You lack the patience.'
'And you're mine. I won't tire.'
she swallows.
'Have fun with the chase, uncle.'
daemon and rhaenyra have been at war for the throne ever since viserys collapsed. exile made them estranged.
they won't find rest until one of them win. everything is allowed in both love and war.
he didn't expect her to come to him.
'have you come to surrender, darilaros?'
'you fathom me some kind of monster' is a crazy sad line because rhaenyra was, in fact, one of the only souls arguing he wasn't a beast, always on daemon's side - and now she treats him like a thorn in her flesh. a plague and not a conqueror.
