Hey, there! 👋
I'm Atheena, a variety streamer with a focus on raising money for charity.
I love all sorts of games and am always looking for something new to introduce to my community.
My DMs are open to sponsorships and collaboration opportunities. Let's work together! ✨️
Some of y'all truly have no fucking IDEA how hard it is to get out of an abusive relationship.
ON AVERAGE it take 8 times of leaving before actually being able to get yourself out. That's if you're lucky. That's if you have help.
She can't just "leave" an abuser.
Since
@TheHIVE_Social
has been popping off, I figured I'd write a little thread based off of my experience so far.
I made an account last night and have already fallen in love with this new platform.
First and foremost, it feels like they took all of the best features 🧵
With YouTube lowering their qualifications for monetization, the gaming community has a better chance to kick start their career on another platform.
As an already existing YouTube partner I will say this:
This is a HUGE chance to build a community outside of Twitch.🧵
Today, a brand new viewer asked about the game I was playing so they could possibly get it for their wife.
I stopped EVERYTHING I was doing to give them the run down.
They then said:
"I love how passionate you are about this. Thank you for taking the time to explain it to me."
The inability to receive support from others is a trauma response.
The "I don't need anyone, I'll just do it myself" conditioning is a survival tactic. It's used to shield ourselves from abuse, neglect, betrayal, and disappointment.
Be patient with us. 💜
I thought streamer Twitter was bad until I dipped my toes into TTRPG Twitter.
What the hell is going on over there?
Like???
Just have fun and make friends. Damn, not everything has to be a hot take.
Y'all make it hard for new players to even THINK about playing.
If there is any victim blaming on my timeline, you are instantly blocked and removed from my life. 🖕
Don't be the reason people are scared to come forward.
Weed yourselves out now.
This isn't funny. This isn't a game. She did everything live for a reason. She needed others to see in a way that she felt safe doing so. That was a cry for help.
Not me getting suspended from work because I would not tolerate a customer referring to me as "woman" every time he tried to get my attention.
LOL WHAT YEAR IS IT
One thing that we need to be mindful of is that there are only TWO folks running this app. Things happen quickly within the online space and when something becomes popular, it tends to take off with no looking back.
Patience will be key as we experience bugs, loading times, 🧵
My ex told me that I never finish anything. I start all these projects and never follow through.
For the longest time it made me feel so inadequate. Like I was a failure because I couldn't make anything stick.
In 36 hours I get to say "I did it." Not for him. For me. ✨
No. You know what? I'm just gonna say it.
Those of you trying to see "good" in Twitch with these "new" features...
You're the reason why the platform is getting away with less than the bare minimum.
Why settle for less? We deserve better.
Back to what I was saying about taking the best features from other platforms...
You can FEATURE MUSIC? Talk about a blast from the past. Bringing the nostalgia of MySpace back was absolutely the right move.
I love this, and can't wait to test this out. 🧵
Okay so theres DisneyPlus now. Whatever.
Give me a Cartoon Network Plus. Please.
I miss Courage the Cowardly Dog.
I want to rewatch Ed, Edd n Eddy.
I want to tell Dede to get out of my Laboratory.
😭
Being a chaotic streamer is okay.
Being a cozy streamer is okay.
Being a VTuber is okay.
Being a no-cam streamer is okay.
Being a chill streamer is okay.
Playing the same game is okay.
Playing what you want, when you want is okay.
Do what makes YOU happy. 🙏
exactly like you are scrolling through a Twitter feed, which I personally really like.
Speaking of it still feeling like Twitter, most things LOOK and FEEL the same. So if you're not looking for change... I absolutely recommend this app. 🧵
from multiple platforms and melded them together to make a powerhouse of an app.
Much like Instagram, any media that is posted is what is featured first. Text or description comes directly after which makes photos and videos the star of the show.
The interface still feels 🧵
There are also other things to play with such as color schemes to make your feed more aesthetically appealing.
Of course there are also quality of life features which allow muting and blocking (we all know that is a MUCH needed aspect.) 🧵
In light of hearing what happened...
If I am ever doing an irl stream and a viewer shows up to the location I'm at... I don't care who you are, if it is not planned, I am calling the police.
In no world will that EVER be okay unwarranted.
When you go to edit your profile there is a section to choose pronouns which I LOVE and I noticed you can also add your Zodiac sign.
This app also feels very LGBTQIA+ friendly.
Right now the app is very intimate since most folks have not signed up within 🧵
Can we normalize talking about goals on stream?
If I'm TRYING to make this a full time job, I'm gonna need to make enough per month for all of my bills.
That doesnt mean we beg or ask. It just means we talk about it. 💁♀️
I had another cancer scare which is why I haven't been around as much.
This morning I got my biopsy results back and the tumor is benign!!!!
I just want to celebrate. 🥺🎉
Still 3 years in remission and counting!
One of the few things that I am hopeful will be a fix in the future are certain accessibility features such as alt text. Most folks have been including them under their media in the comments section.
For the time being, this is an easy thing for us to do. 🧵
Let's talk about being friends with each other in the streaming space.
You do not have to feel guilty about not watching content if you are friends with someone *especially* if you do not enjoy it.
It is okay to be friends with someone and not watch their streams.
I get to play D&D for the first time tonight.
At the same table I grew up watching my brother play at.
With the same people I grew up watching.
After 20 years of being surrounded by it, I'm finally diving in.
It truly rubs me the wrong way when a viewer says something along the lines of:
🚩 wow chat is dead right now
🚩 why isn't anyone talking
🚩 where is everyone
Please don't do this. 🥲
👉Non-Partnered Streamers👈
Comment below with successes. It can be anything from max number of viewers, top sub count, amount of money you have raised for charity...
I just want to show you that a checkmark doesn't mean you can't do big things in this space. 💪
We actually did it??? In two months time???
We are officially a YouTube partner which may not mean a lot to some but it means a whole heck of a lot to me!
😭😭😭
Imagine talking shit about someone raising money for charity.
I was lurking a stream who had the leader boards up for the PH campaign through Tiltify calling my a try hard.
Let's get this straight. I will ALWAYS be a try hard for charity. I will ALWAYS do what I can.
NO MORE THREADS. That gives it a more forum feel, but in an extremely easy to use way.
Oh and we can ASK QUESTIONS! It looks like you can make the questions anonymous if you'd like, but I see this being a GREAT feature for companies and small businesses. 🧵
Something big is happening.
I said 2022 was going to be our year.
For the first time since I've started streaming, a company wants to work with me.
WE ARE DOING THE DAMN THING. 💪🎉
or needing features to make the app more accessible.
Overall, I am really enjoying Hive and absolutely recommend it to those who are looking for an alternative to Twitter.
Having a shooter threat AND a shitty DJ was not on my wedding bingo card, but I have a new last name and get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend so I think that's really neat. ❤️
Last night on stream someone called out a viewer for being there.
"This is the most I've ever seen you in chat."
I was super uncomfy and didn't really know how to respond in the moment. As a streamer, we are not entitled to anyone's time. Period.
If a person with clinical depression and anxiety says they're tired, don't tell them there's no reason to be.
We're not tired for no reason. We're tired because we have an ILLNESS that makes us tired.
Low energy/ fatigue is a side effect. Fighting your own brain is exhausting.
I get to play D&D for the first time tonight.
At the same table I grew up watching my brother play at.
With the same people I grew up watching.

any given community, but I am expecting that to change.
Another thing that I have noticed is that there doesn't seem to be a character limit. You can post ENTIRE chapters of books without reaching a limit. If there is one... it is EXTREMELY high. What does that mean? 🧵
Sex is great and all but have you ever had ✨financial stability✨ because I haven't had either in a hot minute and I just need to live vicariously through someone during this difficult time. 🙃
