In 2014 I had the privilege of serving with a Ukrainian officer in Afghanistan. He was a valuable member of our NATO team. When Russia invaded Crimea, he had to go home. Today I’m thinking of him & his family & hoping he’s leading the resistance because he’ll fight like a lion 🇺🇦

What a reality check! 😳 In the 2000 World Duathlon Championships I ran 10k in 33 mins 23 secs (before cycling 40k & running another 5k). Today (21 years & several gunshot wounds, nerve & frost damage injuries later) I managed only 45 mins! The mind is still willing, but… 😏
