No one seems to be talking about how well the Green Party did in Wales this election. They got 1% of the vote in 2019. This time they were just under 4.7%. While Welsh turnout fell 10%, the total people voting Green went from 16K to 62K. They're v likely getting seats in 2026.

Two different stories, but recent news from both Westminster and Cardiff Bay highlights the toxic effect that a culture of 'eye wateringly' large donations to parties and politicians has on every level of government in the UK. It is time to take big money out of our politics.

Tories get biggest ever donation of £10m from man who won £400m in government contracts Gething lobbies for a company guilty of environmental crime before getting a £200,000 campaign donation Both stories show the toxic effect of the super-rich on every level of our politics

An understandable decision from Plaid, and the right one following the shambolic behaviour of the new Welsh Labour administration over recent weeks. Also highlights the desperate need for new voices and meaningful scrutiny in the Senedd. Wales deserves better.

New UK Shared Prosperity Fund to bypass devolved administrations. No surprise there, an all too predictable Westminster power grab. #IndyWales

Not a single mention of Wales in Keir Starmer's @UKLabour conference speech yesterday. Red side, blue side, makes no difference. Westminster isn't working for Wales.

Really inspiring to join Green Party leaders from across the UK's four nations at Westminster today, sharing our vision of a fairer, greener future and highlighting the real impact elected Greens deliver and the need to increase Green representation at every level of government.

The @WelshGovernment has failed to step in and stop this coal mine operating for 11 months since planning permission expired. They must now step up and ensure the site is fully restored and provide support and retraining for the workers.

Seeing an encouraging amount of support for the #UniteToRemain message from voters in the Vale of Glamorgan with many pleased to see grown up cross party cooperation. Thanks to local @Plaid_Cymru @WelshLibDems parties for standing aside here as part of the arrangement.

This is blatant voter suppression and an undermining of democracy. Another reason why Wales would be better off free of Westminster control.

Austerity is not inevitable. Spending cuts announced today are a political choice. There is an alternative. It's time to tax the wealthy, the filthy fossil fuel companies and greedy corporations to pay for the public services we all need and use. #AutumnStatement #WealthTax

Latest IPPC report shows that climate breakdown is accelerating faster than predicted with devastating consequences. Urgent action on an unprecedented scale is needed from our governments. Now is not the time for new coal mines or airport expansion.
