I am appalled at some of the remarks made in relation to news that Johnson has been admitted to hospital. Surely none of us wants to see anyone suffer with this illness, whether it’s Johnson or anyone else. Let’s all show some decency at this terrible time.

It’s increasingly obvious that Corbyn is leading his party towards facilitating Brexit. He will never be forgiven by the voters who pay the price with jobs lost and reduced living standards.

£33m compensation to Eurotunnel is the price to taxpayers for the 'no ferry' contract debacle overseen by Chris Grayling. Money that could have been put to much better use by the DfT. This really is the last straw - time for Grayling to go.

David Miliband is a British citizen, that’s why Brexit is as relevant to him as to you Lucy. Just as all those British citizens living and working in the EU also have a right to a say.
I’m sorry but what has David Miliband got to do with the current debate over Brexit? He hasn’t been living in the country for 5 years. Let alone in touch with the electorate.

Once again May refuses to take the difficult decisions and kicks the can down the road. We have already voted against no deal and we have voted against her deal. Only way forward is to put the Withdrawal Agreement to the people for ratification.

Shocking. The leader of the Lab Party tells us abuse is unacceptable & yet his followers do this. Corbyn’s failure to rein in the excesses of his supporters does little to promote his credentials for running the country.
The current second top trend on Twitter is people mocking someone who lost family in the Holocaust based on what she said about how the Holocaust has impacted her. That’s where we’re at now.

Parliament must act to end the chaos of May’s Brexit; the country deserves better than this. The TIG amendment, calling for a Final Say referendum on May’s deal, does exactly that. Every MP looking for a way out of the gridlock should support it.
The country is on the edge of disaster and the PM chooses to indulge in pantomime jokes. Dividing rather than ruling, threatening rather than building consensus. When is she going to take her responsibilities seriously?

pointing out the use of the Queen’s prerogative by Government rests on its commanding a majority in the House of Commons. Says it is extraordinary that Johnson’s Government should deploy the prerogative in the absence of a Commons majority.
Completely agree with this assessment. But would add Lab MPs need to pursue this logic to its conclusion - the party is over. Electorally it is as dead as Monty Python’s parrot. Time to join the only force for sensible, pro-Remain politics in the U.K. Time to join the LibDems

Amendments will have to be tabled before the 2nd reading of the Bill has been approved. The biggest decision the country has faced will be debated over just three days. Lisbon Treaty got 11 days of debate. Maastricht 23 days. Government is showing complete contempt for Parliament
For clarity:
The WAB is 100 pages.
It is complicated.
It hasn’t even been published yet.
The govt intends to publish no economic impact assessment of the deal overall.
The govt wants MPs to have concluded the main votes on it by the end of tomorrow.
This is not ideal...
I was Labour because I was born into a working-class family made up of steelworkers and skilled tradesmen. I grew up in a council house. This means I also understand the extent to which the people I grew up with disliked the politics represented by Corbyn and his followers.
To be clear: I was in Labour because I grew up in a working class pit village. I spent 20 years working for Labour in govt (where we did great things) & Parliament. I was never a cheerleader for Corbynism that poisoned Labour with anti-Jewish racism & gave the Tories a landslide.

Fascinating that

I’ve been through about ten revisions of this tweet, trying to remain civil, but I am finding it hard to contain my anger at Theresa May. I’ll settle on near-criminally irresponsible. She is focused entirely on keeping her party together irrespective of the real-world damage.

The Labour leadership remained social democratic throughout the early eighties. Not now. The moderate, centre-left tradition has all but evaporated as the leadership turns the screw and transforms Labour into something resembling a Marxist sect.
Voters deserve to hear from a Remainer on the debate stage, not just from the two men who want to deliver Brexit.
