Genius idea. Just think, you could make that engine smaller, put it in the car and get it to drive the wheels directly. That would reduce efficiency loses.
I'm off to patent my idea.
Another small, light, economical and environmentally friendly car dies due to regulations requiring cars to be better for the environment but forcing them to be bigger, heavier and less economical - as well as a lot more expensive.
This is a future alternative propulsion method I suspect I would like and wholly support. Vastly preferable to a heavy battery and electric motor sound for a car!
Can anyone explain to me how nearly doubling the price paid to those who generate electricity will help reduce household bills? It seems economics has changed since I learned the basic principles.
Despite what I might think about electricity as a power source for cars this is sad to see - the two newly made Lancia Delta Evo-e RX destroyed by fire apparently caused by battery failure (but don't know for sure).
What a great day, 300 mile round trip to Bicester completed without a hitch in my Fulvia. Great to meet up with loads of fantastic Twitter folk. Pictures later when I download them from my camera.
My 1972 Lancia Fulvia gives me a notification if a tyre has dropped to half the required pressure. The tyre looks flat and the car unlevel. No need to rely on an app, my eyes can spot it directly.
My Model Y sent a notification to my phone overnight.
📲 “Rear left tire pressure is very low. Please check pressure before driving.”
Sure enough, I’ve got a leak.
What other car can do that? 🤙
(That also means it’s time to replace my factory tires after 70k miles)
If I had a fuel station at the moment I would introduce a £50 minimum charge - buy as much as you want, no limit but if you are topping up because you just drove 20 miles and don't want to run out then go ahead, but 2 litres will cost £50. That would stop panic buying!
I'm not brave/foolish enough to try the blowtorch trick on faded plastic so trying linseed oil instead - certainly looks good now so will see how it lasts.
No they shouldn't.
Don't be like Jeremy. Be considerate to all road users, if you are slower than others make it easy for them to pass as soon as possible. That makes people calm.
I may well get blacklisted by some Lancia lovers for saying this, but I like the look of this modified Fulvia (at least, I would if it was in better condition.
Saw this picture on a Lancia FB page earlier and have permission to share it. What an amazing way to transport a car - unfortunately it looks like it doesn't exist any longer. If anyone know the Aurelia - WKX81E please let me know.
Does this meet
@LUDENClassics
bobtail standard?
Just spotted this Allegro Estate on FB marketplace (which
@Pirateofchance
should buy) but really intrigued by the car in the background - it has a lot of classic Mini elements but isn't one. Can anyone identify it?
One I missed posting earlier, the number plate maybe gives a clue about the owner of this one - I guess tie-wraps must be lighter than screws for holding number plates in place!
There is something of an irony in the
@F1
bio saying "The home of risk takers" when they can't accept the risk of a new team entering the cartel...

When I photographed this my wife asked me why I had, she was surprised when I said I thought people would like it - I guess 150 likes justifies my action!
Finally dry for long enough to put the polish on. Very impressed with the
@spartacarcare
Eros Ceramic. First proper polish and wax since the rebuild, looks good don't you think

Final couple of photos from my recent visit to France. Good to see the French still demonstrating against authority. This speed camera was put in place on the Tuesday, Wednesday was a bank holiday, first picture taken in Thursday, second and third on Saturday.
I saw this car, moving under its own power, on the road (heading south on the A43, south of Brackley to be precise) today. It seems it actually works. But who was driving it and from where to where? Anyone know?

I think my local council forced Lightning McQueen to do road repairs yesterday based on the quality of the finished result. Absolutely appalling and already falling apart. The black parts in my photo are the new tarmac which I presume was intended to fill the potholes.
This is a really sensible and practical solution to future mobility. Shows the fallacy of a single government imposed solution.
Compact and light rotary engine running at optimum efficiency as needed - it just makes sense.
Mazda Monday Fact: the Mazda MX-30 e-Skyactiv R-EV's 830cc single rotor engine is the first rotary to feature direct injection, it's also the first to have an exhaust gas regulator. It emits just 21g/km.
Can anyone see a wheel nut? Just replaced brake pads and shoes on our Freelander, came to put the second wheel back on and one of the wheel nuts (the locking one) is nowhere to be seen. Checked all the boxes and tool rolls but it's nowhere 🤔
Thanks everyone who follows me, I've just passed 2500 followers. This car I saw on Sunday seems appropriate for that number and even more so as it's

So it's official - electricity vehicles will have to pay vehicle excise duty. Had to happen despite anything the EVangelists might have claimed. Probably the first of many duties they will end up paying.
I've just seen this picture of what I presume was a concept car - definitely should have gone into production. Lancia Gamma HPE!
Photo from Garage Lancia FB page.
This is potentially very clever but we currently raise nearly £30bn tax a year from motorists in the UK and can't maintain the roads. EVs avoid most of that tax so who is going to pay to install and maintain this? And when happens when a pothole appears and a live wire breaks?
This has been under cover on the drive for far too long. Charged the battery and it started instantly. Now to start disconnecting everything to get the engine out.
