Real inventory levels in the city of Miami!
This video is my general reply to all the fear-mongering click-bait out there that somehow uses Miami pictures, then quotes data from other cities in Florida.

Something like 25% of American women in their 40s were on anti anxiety & anti depression medication BEFORE Covid.
Then fear was spread.
It fed the underlying conditions.
I dont see how they dial back.
@JonErlichman
there is this tendency in human nature to think that the present is sacrosanct. most people, for whatever reason, are unable to recognize how short-lived and fleeting any given reality is. Change is inevitable .. yet sentiment like this exists around just about every
I think we are in the early stages of a major shift, many of our societal constructs were post world war and pre-internet creations. This crisis is in many ways accelerating us into the future.

Love the long form video & Elon doing some real reporting. Amazing. Gives me hope. The news is no longer monopolized by legacy media & reporters trying to ascend the hierarchy.
Reminds me of Taleb quotes about how you can never trust anyone on a salary or within a hierarchy.
Excellent point. WWI was Europe committing suicide at scale. Set the stage for all we have now. Staggeringly stupid.
Also: only 21 years between the world Wars. WWII could not have happened sooner, a new generation of men was needed. WWII is in many ways a continuation.

World War I happened before women had equal political power in Europe. Women couldn’t even vote in the 🇺🇸. WWI was probably the stupidest war in history, it was a disaster for Western civilization. The beginning of the end. “Repeal the 19th” bros need to read more.

the history of the world is replete with governments lying their own people.
It is a constant of the human condition. Why are we surprised?
...it truly amazes me that people are somehow surprised that their govts lie. it should be the expectation.
We see this playing out in South Florida real estate numbers. $1M+ SFH had record high transaction volume in some areas, while stuff for regular people saw volume plummet. The top 1% benefits from the Fed's largesse, the bottom got hit by job losses. All connected.
"They keep trying to give the patient more of the same medicine. They [the Fed] are creating more and more zombie firms. The Fed is doing a LOT for the top 1%."

Awesome. Price controls have a long history of working out great. (sarcasm)
This only makes sense within the context of politicians taking actions that get them reelected. This is not aligned with long term prosperity of their jurisdictions.

The pattern is very clear: Americans with income are voting with their feet. High tax, blue states are losing tax payers in droves, and are replacing them with lower earners or (in the case of NY) with migrants receiving free debit cards. The ramifications are tremendous.
People are using their feet to vote on state quality every year in the U.S.
Currently, it seems they've been voting that Florida and Texas are nice places to move to, and California and New York are nice places to leave.
This is a movement, not a moment.

As I keep saying, momentum is a real thing. Momentum cycles feed on themselves and accelerate.
Positive momentum towards South Florida had just started to build.
And conversely, negative momentum in our feeder jurisdictions is also in its early stages.
