Jurors have heard from 10 witnesses so far in the Terrence Shannon Jr. trial in Lawrence, KS. Witness testimony is expected to wrap up this morning, and closing arguments are expected this afternoon. Then, the jury will deliberate and verdict watch begins.

UPDATE: Just confirmed with Robert Lang, one of Shannon’s lawyers. His hearing in federal court is Jan. 12th at 1:30pm. The University of Illinois filed a motion today in response to Shannon’s lawsuit, which he filed yesterday against the U of I.

Tonight, Fairbury is coming together to remember two teenage boys gone too soon. Dylan Bazzell and Drew Fehr were involved athletes at Prairie Central High School. They were killed in a sledding accident over spring break in Colorado. Heartbreaking 💔

A few weeks ago, I introduced you to Pinto Bean. He’s a piebald squirrel frequenting Sixth and Springfield on campus. This morning, @TKissack20 texted me. Pinto passed away. Students are remembering him with a memorial on campus. Rest In Peace, little guy.
