Possibly the most insane single exposure I've ever taken. Just as I asked my friend Jens to point at Comet 46P/Wirtanen, a meteor streaked underneath the open star cluster Pleiades (M45). Jens - 150m Meteor - 85 km Comet 46P - 11 million km Pleiades - 444 light years

A couple of nights ago I captured an image I planned over 3 years ago. The Moon only gets into the right position in the nights around the full Moons of November, December and January, so there's only about 12 days of the year it's possible. (1/2)

I was 7 years old when my Grandad helped me spot Comet Hale-Bopp through his fancy binoculars. The sight of it must have triggered something in me becase for years to follow a comet became a staple feature in my dreams. Comet NEOWISE has been such a surreal experience 🌌

Waited a couple of years for perfect conditions for this. You need the lake to flood ever so slightly to cover the jetty with 1-2cm of water. It also has to be timed with clear skies on a moonless night with zero wind to get those reflections and then boom... You're Jesus Christ!

A great way to improve the detail in your astro photos is by shooting panoramas. Check out the 100% crops of this one taking with an 85mm lens 🤩 The setting crescent Moon provided the perfect light on the foreground and not too much to wash out the detail in the Milky Way 🌌
