My personal gaming feat achieved on March 25, 2021: 3D Gunstar Heroes Deathless Expert Clear on Gunslinger + Mega Life Mode! As part of M2’s Sega 3D Classics series, the 3DS port remains my favorite version of Treasure’s 1993 Mega Drive/Genesis classic. Absilio Mundus!

Kiki KaiKai: Kuro Manto no Nazo Ver. 1.0.2 Ikazuchi Deathless Normal 1CC! It’s safe to say Ame-no-Uzume and Ikazuchi have outclassed Sayo-chan and Manuke in various ways. Their unique and powerful arsenals make quick work on enemies and bosses, more so with the red power-ups.

DeltaZeal Very Easy No Miss Clear + DoDonPachi DaiOuJou Rinne Tensei Arrange S/L/EX ALL Clear! It’s a relief overcoming the former’s unforgiving challenge, and the latter’s arranges were unique in their own ways. It was worth many attempts to end January on a high note!

My DeltaZeal v.1.0.1 One Credit PB: 3,595,720 Very Easy at Stage 7! This game is certainly a raw fight, the more I continue playing it. Make that point blanking, speed killing and constant movement. The resolve went further!

Technosoft’s legacy was not forgotten, with Sega owning their library since 2016. Former staff worked at Compile, Treasure and Eighting, while others started Arsys Software (aka Cyberhead, 1985-2001), CAProduction (1993; Hagane, Bulk Slash) and Ganbarion (1999; Pandora’s Tower).

Finally got it! Deltazeal aka G-Stream G2020 by Triangle Service of XII Stag (XII Zeal), Trizeal, Exzeal, Shooting Love and Arcade Love Plus Pengo! It’s quite challenging on any difficulty and the developer commentary was also a neat touch.

Snagged a few screens as DeltaZeal’s replays cropped the nonexistent ending (same goes for Stage 7 Score Attack), so it’s whatever. It’s something to notice, as XIIZeal’s replays kept your full runs intact with staff credits upon a game clear.

Speaking of games I still kept, the Sega Saturn version of Taito’s Darius Gaiden. Albeit it’s the US version, it’s one of my gateway games to Taito. The porting team at AiSystem Tokyo did wonders, though I’m also glad M2’s Cozmic Collection exists these days.

It's lamentable Taito had shelved R-GEAR in favor of developing its sequels on PlayStation-based arcade hardware. The F3 System was still actively used up until 1998.

So both versions have their own superplays and replay slots, even tracking any options used. At least players can save their full runs like Castlevania & Contra Anniversary Collection. I really enjoyed Valken Declassified, and it’d be nice to see this release on other platforms.

PetitCom 3 SmileBASIC: Solid Gunner is a well-made STG with graphics done by 8bits Fanatics of 1,001 Spikes and Steel Sword Story. The arcade startup sequence was also a nice touch!

I owned the original GBA cart for Astro Boy: Omega Factor years ago, but recently clearing Hard Mode was satisfying. It remains one of my favorite Treasure games next to Gunstar Heroes, Alien Soldier and Sin & Punishment, and it’s a great introduction to Osamu Tezuka’s universe.
