The Most Famous Person You've Never Heard Of.
Owner of Metaphor Club. Author: Divine Nine & Blackballed. ManU, Lakers, Cal football/basketball. Inglewood!
As someone who wrote a book on campus racism, I need everyone to bookmark this tweet. Once the heat gets hot on Ole Miss student, this will happen.
a. Media/his allies will infantile him. They will call him a 'kid' or a 'boy'. That is to create a narrative...
I hate this video because it reinforces this idea that Black parenting is centered around violence. This ISN'T good parenting. This is lazy parenting where you haven't set expectations, and now YOU are the one acting out. We need to get rid of this.
That's too young to understand what is racist.
b. He will issue a mea culpa where he pretends to apologize for his action. May even have a press conference with Black people behind him.
c. He'll say...that wasn't the real me. And that he hates being judged by that one moment
Funniest thing: White folks hated affimative action, so they used it as a slur against Black folks. When the SCOTUS got rid of it, they were happy, but missed their slur, so they were sad again. But they found DEI, and voila, they could use it as a slur, and were happy again.
Kamala is a classic case of what happens when you don't let losing stop you from getting better. She's a much better politician today than she was four years ago. Keep going. Get better. You WILL get the prize.
I've never seen a brother like Cornel West fall so fast from admiration to being reviled. Acting as a chaos agent, history will not treat him kindly, from his temper tantrum at Tavis' Town Hall onward.
@Jason
And despite that education, you never once thought that I shouldn't have to work an extra eight hours per week to pay for an education.
It's damn easy to exploit people when they spend their time justifying their own exploitation.
If colleges get rid of DEI programs, we must make them feel the cost of not mining the Black community for our athletic talent so they can make billions of dollars in football.
This is me on line. Millions of Divine Nine fraternity and sorority members did the same. Do you think we care about what MAGA can bring? We're built for this. We pledged for this. We are taking Kamala to victory.
Cornel West is proof positive of my central belief: Fame is corrosive. It corrupts. It reveals all of the bad part of your character. And what's worse? It's more addictive than heroin, and you'll chase it your whole life because of the need to have your ego fed.
Don't seek it.
If they thought it was something in 2020, America will see something else in 2024. The D9 Sorority Avengers are already in action. The GOP ain't gonna know what hit 'em.
@SFDamnPodcast
First, we don't know if there's a father in the household. Second, as a father, being a father doesn't give you magical powers. It's about parenting, either together or singularly, consistently, so that children understand expectations and then set their own expectations.
My original tweet has blown up, I see, but it cut off Sigma Gamma Rho. Not an intentional snub at all, but here’s the full pic. When I posted this, I was concerned less w/ who was in the pic, and more about the impact of BGLO members voting.

Nope. He will. The chancellor just chimed in and they've already started an investigation. When I was there in 2019, I met with a bunch of folks, including one provost. Yeah, Ole Miss has a lot of bad history, but there will be an accounting.
Is it me, but do all Black families have this family lore story:
"Uncle Blankety Blankety killed a white man, so he had to leave X place, and that's why we live in Y state..."
Just my family?
@monkefresh
If your military father is dragging you off anything at 20 years old, then he didn't do a great job at raising an adult with agency over their own actions.
And...from this post...I can tell.
@DrPhillipsMD
Being fired by a con artist criminal should be a badge of honor. You spoke truth to power and that means you have integrity. Thank you for your service.
Lemme put it this way: My wife is a Delta. She has about eight BFF friends, and they're split between AKAs and Deltas. They stay on group chat anyway. They're already in action. Like...action...right now.
@Jason
You not feeling like a victim isn't the point. You were still exploited by a college education that didn't need to be unaffordable. If you note the history of college education, you'll see when college went from free to exploitative. Where would you be with those hours back?
The University of Florida fired and closed its DEI office. Okay. So I will tweet their 2025 recruits and encourage them to Don't Play Where They Don't Respect You. Please check my TL and repost these tweets please.
Conservatives will attack HBCUs in different ways:
1. Say a 'segregated' system for Blacks is discriminatory to whites. Absurd, but all of their arguments are absurd.
2. Cut funding at the state level for public HBCUs. Urge merging w/PWI.
3. Cut Pell/Force into loans.
The funniest thing about Twitter? A platform led by a racist is full of racists who swear to God that they're not racists. If that ain't America in a nutshell, I don't know what is.
@rickfish412
The frustration is that Black folks learn we need to learn about white America to navigate...while white America knows very little about the basics of Black America. I say this as the author of The Divine Nine...an LA Times best seller on Black fraternities and sororities
The funniest thing about the Pac-12 breakup is that everybody who went to the Big 10 looks unenthused to be there. Big 12? More like...if we gotta be here, I guess we'll play. But Cal and Stanford? The ones folks mocked? We're having a BALL in the ACC.
There's no group of Black folks more misunderstood than Black Californians by non-Black Californians. You can always tell that their impression of Black folks here was crafted by Hollywood and their own stereotypes of life in California.
@brianhorn
Not 'naturally built to handle'??? In what fantasy world do y'all live in where Black boys are so aberrant that a Black mom has to beat them, all because we presume the father isn't there?
My feelings on
#CandaceOwens
attempting to get good with Black folks after kicking it with, espousing the ideas of, and being in general, the most anti-Black person joyfully for white supremacists?
"Do you know the damage one ignorant Negro can do?"

death, remember this...you write your own eulogy every day by how you live and treat people. When you die, the only thing the people will do is read it back to you.
@NoahGarfinkel
Isn't it ironic that a black man who supports Jim Crow policies would be at the beck and call of a billionaire named Crow? I'm a writer and even I couldn't make that up.
All of my Alpha brothers, my Kappa homies, my Omega friends, my Sigma pahtnas, and my Iota cousins...we got this y'all! Let's get Kamala to the finish line! Reply if you bout it bout it!!!
@the_REALization
I don't have a problem with anything he said or how he said it. I do have a problem with them filming it and putting a private moment on social media. Everything doesn't have to be a social media moment.
@CandiceBenbow
This is a very bad take. It's literally the OPPOSITE. Gen Xers were raised alone and have a distrust of EVERYONE, family included. We didn't rely upon the 'older gen' because they weren't there in the first place when we were being raised.
@Wise_Jones
"Condemn our elders?" I AM an elder. And it parenting, not matter if you're scared, angry, etc. doesn't require beating your child. Discipline doesn't require that, regardless of the fear. And we don't spit on our 'upbringing', but get better. We learn. We DO better.
Today marks 38 years since the Line of Harambee crossed into
#AlphaPhiAlpha
Fraternity via Alpha Epsilon chapter, UC Berkeley. I started line as an 18-year-old freshman and crossed as a 19-year-old freshman. I've literally been an Alpha my whole adult life.
Remember that I said the goal was to limit Black social mobility by making PWIs anti-Black, HBCUs underfunded, and make debt a burden for those who do go.
All eyes have been on the end of affirmative action, but an emerging bipartisan bill would bar wealthy colleges from accepting federal student loans poses a new threat to diversity at those schools
@AshleyShyMiller
Dude can't vote. Why do we care about what he thinks? Amping his voice, even with the 'SOME' qualifier, does us no good. Every election, the Black vote, gender included, goes around the same: BW: 90-93%. BM:85-90% Democrat, both way higher than any other demo.
@deonteleologist
I lecture before thousands of white students each year, and for the life of me, I don't know why white politicians underestimate their ability to think.
For all of you big picture folks who are gonna say that you’re happy BUT…
Let us live in this moment for a sec before doing your twitter think piece on what didn’t get fixed with this victory.
Enjoy the victory.

We need to treat the Trump Organization like we treated the South African government during apartheid, and demand that companies divest from their partnerships and business dealings.
Joe Biden better recognize that the GOP isn’t going to deal with him. He better start looking at them as his enemy because that’s exactly how they look at him.
When you remember that a talk show host, Larry Kudlow, is the economic advisor to a game show host, Donald Trump, and if he dies, he'll then report to a talk radio host in Mike Pence.
You couldn't make this shit up.
@SFDamnPodcast
Why do people continue to create narratives about Black fathers when we are the most engaged demographic of fathers in the country?
You enjoy your day too, whether you return or not.
@joshtpm
It's beautiful. Because it's such pure hypocrisy and reveals that they didn't two shits about plagiarism with Dr. Gay. It was an anti-Black racist mob at the start with a convenient excuse. But for the white woman...what about my family?
My advice to the media?
Dig more.

I pray for this young brother. He's such a bright light, and I hope that this fame hasn't contributed to his mental health issues.
@BookerGWash
As someone who grew up within blocks of this picture, during the bad BAD 1980s in South Central, there weren't any good guys. The LAPD & and LA Sheriffs were the third gang, next to the Bloods and Crips. And Ice Cube's Black cop showing out for the white cop? Accurate as fuck.
Y’all know that Trump ain’t gonna leave the White House voluntarily. He can’t do it, psychologically. That happens when you give a sociopath the most powerful job in the world.
