I submitted a public records request to the University of Wyoming about what the school submitted for EA Sports’ upcoming college football video game.
Here’s what I found:
The Wyoming volleyball team will NOT play its schedule Mountain West match with San Jose State this weekend.
It counts as a forfeit loss for the Cowgirls.
None of these are guaranteed to be in the game, but these are a few things Wyoming has submitted to EA Sports.
The game is expected to come out this summer for the first time since 2013.
The Wyoming volleyball team will NOT play its schedule Mountain West match with San Jose State this weekend.

EA also requested photos of UW’s campus, stadium, cheerleaders, equipment/uniforms, locker rooms and mascot imagery as well as historical photos of past and present players (Josh Allen/Logan Wilson?)
UW was asked to submit headshots for players who have/will opt into the game.
“To accurately depict the student-athletes who opt into the game, our team expects to create more human likenesses at one time than has ever been attempted in video game history.”
98% of people who hate on Wyoming have never been to this stadium when it’s full on a Saturday night in October.
No, it is not the Big House. But smalltown schools are what college football is all about in my opinion
Logan Wilson is all over the field. He’s got a team-high seven tackles at halftime.
Obviously he’ll never get the hype/recognition that Josh Allen gets, but Wilson has been and continues to be criminally underrated.
Outcome of this game won't show how close it really was here in Austin for three quarters.
Cowboys gave the No. 4-ranked team in the country all it could handle for 45 minutes. Don't let the final score deter you from believing in this team.
Air Force (5-0 overall, 3-0 Mountain West) goes into this weekend's matchup 132nd out of 133 FBS teams in strength of schedule, according to ESPN.
The Cowboys (5-1, 2-0) are ranked 29th.
Before saying, "Wyoming needs to drop to the the FCS," remember:
-The MW still has 8 members (for now)
-The MW will soon have a ton of money from departing schools
-Wyoming has put a ton of money/resources into athletics over the past 10-15 years
Tom Burman needs to work fast.
“Whether you were raised in Evanston, Worland or Wheatland, the Big Horns in Buffalo, the blue-collar town of Gillette, Casper, Cody or Cheyenne, Jackson Hole, Rock Springs or Riverton, Shoshoni, Lander or Laradise. Raise a glass, this one’s for you, we got work to do, Wyoming."
“It’s special, because it’s the last one for me. I’ve done it 42 years, and I’ve not gone to work a day in my life yet. It’s been a real tremendous profession. ... I have a real sense of peace about moving on. It was time for this Cowboy to ride off."
-Craig Bohl
Jeff Linder’s buyout with Wyoming was converted to the following:
-Two road basketball games at Texas Tech this season and next ($150k each, $300k total)
-$200k increase to UW’s road football game guarantee at Texas Tech in 2028 (from $300k to $500k)
This week marks one year for me covering University of Wyoming athletics.
I appreciate all the Cowboy and Cowgirl fans that have followed along. Here’s to another year in Laradise.
Some personal new:
I will be taking over the University of Wyoming beat for
@WyoSports
starting next week. It’s always been a goal of mine to cover a Division I college and I’m excited for the opportunity to do so in the state of Wyoming.
The names of the 3 UW swimmers killed in a single-vehicle crash yesterday on 287:
-Carson Muir, 18, Birmingham, Alabama (women's team)
-Charlie Clark, 19, Las Vegas (men's team)
-Luke Slabber, 21, Cape Town, South Africa (men's team)
Rest in peace.
Do you understand what dropping to FCS means to an athletic department?
Let’s start with loss of scholarships, TV money and recruiting, to name a few. Moving to FCS is not an option if Wyoming wants to remain remotely relevant in the current landscape.
@alex_m_taylor22
The UW admin, Athletic dept, & get off my lawn fans need to drop their ego and embrace a move to FCS. It would be fun to have the MT & dakota schools as rivals.
Wyoming AD Tom Burman on the Mountain West potentially adding FCS members:
“They’re on the board. For me to speculate for where it’ll land would be inappropriate, but there are a few high-level FCS programs that are on the board.”
Moment of silence for Carson Muir, Charlie Clark and Luke Slabber before today’s Cowgirls game.
The 3 UW swimmers died in a car crash Thursday in northern Colorado.
Emotional, emotional stuff.
I find it hilarious how many people have called for a head coach’s job and a QB to be benched after 1 game.
I was in Tempe. It was brutal, and I’d argue not a single positive thing happened aside from a few good punts.
But you want to blow it all up after week 1? Be serious.
The Gillette Community College District trustees approved their inaugural budget this morning.
After a two-year absence (aside from rodeo), Gillette College athletics are officially back.
FINAL: Wyoming 22, App State 19.
Cowboys win on a game-winning blocked kick returned for a touchdown by Jakorey Hawkins. Wrook Brown's interception seals it.
Just another night in Laradise.
Wyoming's total announced attendance through its first six home games: 143,910.
1. Texas Tech: 26,450
2. Portland State: 22,121
3. App State: 21,169
4. New Mexico: 25,477 (homecoming)
5. Fresno State: 20,788
6. Colorado State, 27,095 (Largest crowd since 2019)
FINAL: Wyoming 68, Fresno State 67.
Akuel Kot with his second game-winner in as many home conference games. Insane.
Cowboys move to 9-8 overall and 2-2 in MW play. Wenzel with a huge night to lead Wyoming with 17 points.

Wyoming/CSU fans:
Whoever shows this tweet to the bartenders at 3rd Street Bar on Friday night (Nov. 3) after tomorrow’s Border War matchup will receive a free draft beer or well drink.
I critiqued Bohl plenty for his road struggles and the stale passing offense, but he really is a standup guy that has done a ton for college football and for the state of Wyoming.
Bohl is as loyal as they come, which isn't something you see in college athletes anymore.
The University of Wyoming women’s swim team won two events and set two school records at an emotional MW championship meet this weekend.
Here’s a quote from UW coach Dave Denniston:
To Wyoming, Texas Tech and college football fans alike, I apologize sincerely. I will never Tweet about the weather in Laramie for the rest of my career.
Still waiting for the 40-minute countdown to kickoff timer to start once the lightning delay clears.
Kansas State had two scholarship players in its basketball program at this time last year and is playing in the Elite 8 today.
Wyoming has three scholarships players in its basketball program today, meaning the Cowboys will be playing in at least the Sweet 16 next March.
Our friends at the University of Wyoming suffered tragic losses last week. In support of the Cowboys and Cowgirls, we will honor the lives of those lost during a moment of silence before Saturday's game against Wyoming.
“We have a great brand, and that’s one of the messages I try to tell people. That bucking horse and rider has value. It stands for something.”
-Wyoming AD Tom Burman
Former Wyoming QB Andrew Peasley, who was the Cowboys’ starter for the past two seasons, received an invite to mini camp with the New York Jets, per Peasley.
During his final postgame conference as a Cowboy, Hunter Maldonado spoke on his decision to stick it out with Jeff Linder in Laramie.
Maldonado's final stat line through 157 career games: 2,158 points (13.7/game), 808 rebounds (5.1/game) and 630 assists (4.0/game).
