The key difference is that when Muslims fought and killed each other throughout Islamic history, rarely was it because one side believed the other were apostates due to their theology (Ibn Tumart of the Almohads is another example). The Al-Sauds of Najd massacred Muslims

Abu Zur’ah mentioned that a man from the people of Ra’y (reason) debated with Ishāq bin Rāhwayh; Ishāq then cited Tāwūs (on the matter); the man laughed and said: “They use birds as proof against us!” (The literal definition of Tāwūs is ‘peacock’….) {الكفاية للخطيب}

8. POETRY & ELOQUENCE: I don’t need to say much here. There are many subjects which one can study on their own time like geography etc and even with all this many Islamic Universities provide STEM degrees for those who want to go in to those fields to benefit the Muslims.

As much as people criticize Ahmed al-Hāzmī one thing you can’t deny is that he’s an absolute master when it comes to the Arabic language. We know of students in Islamic universities who listen to his shurūh in alfiyyah etc.

Interesting narration: Sharīk (177هـ) said: “It has reached me that before the advent of the Mahdī the sun will be eclipsed twice during the month of Ramadān” I’m not sure it’s authentic but it’s an interesting read especially having an eclipse in Ramadān albeit not twice.
