Farage having his suit ruined by a milkshake should probably be playing second fiddle in the coverage stakes to the news that a Scottish Tory councillor had a petrol bomb lobbed at his family home
Today is 8th May, 33rd anniversary of 9 Irishmen, including 8 Volunteers murdered by British Army at Loughgall. We remember them all with with grá and with great pride. These men were precious to their families, friends and communities. I measc laochra na nGael go raibh siad.
On May 8th, 1987, eight Volunteers and loved family men lost their lives in a planned British Army / RUC ambush. Anthony Hughes also killed and his brother Oliver seriously injured. Sorely missed each and everyone of them.

I see James Dornan has tweeted several times about a football team in the past 24 hours rather than about a man in Glasgow dying because it took 40 hours for an ambulance to reach him. So there’s that.’
I’m enjoying Arlene Foster’s “no fucks given” tour as much as the next person, but she does have a not inconsiderable role in this absolute bin-fire which shouldn’t be forgotten.
Reports in France claiming Moussa Dembele won't travel with Lyon to face Rangers due to a muscle injury.
Xherdan Shaqiri also unavailable due to not being fully vaccinated.

Remembering all those great times the Republican movement fostered train travel in Ireland by...planting bombs on the Belfast to Dublin line and bombing trains.
British Army have been have been involved in summary executions human rights abuses and cover ups not just in Afghanistan but throughout the world including here in the North of Ireland
BBC News - Top general locked away evidence of SAS executions
The UK press has to do a better job at scrutinising these American politicians passing comment on Northern Ireland every five minutes. Plenty of them went to the rubber chicken fundraisers which paid for the bombs and bullets which prolonged the Troubles. They are not unbiased.
Another day, another insight into the strange mind of Graham Spiers. This, from 2005, on why “good bloke”Graham Rix - jailed for having sex with a 15 year old - should get a second chance. Disturbing then, disturbing now
Irish 🇮🇪 people are strong supporters of the European Union.
EU membership has driven economic and social progress here. As a peace project, the EU was an inspiration for peace in Northern Ireland.
EU 🇪🇺 = democracy and human rights.
We are proudly Irish and European 🇪🇺🇮🇪
Enjoying Steve Clarke’s evoking of National Front riddled, racially abusive Chelsea of the 1980s as his salvation from the evils of the West of Scotland.
Well, arguing over attendance at a fairly banal church service and now stopping a mundane light display shows Irish nationalism is ready for those “mature conversations” they keep insisting unionists have with them.
I don't normally comment on other teams but this cannot be ignored. I do not care if Rangers FC think they are 150 years old but I do care about them publicly pandering to the racists in their support by including the tune of a known racist song in this clip. This is no accident.
Always found this interview from Adams particularly chilling. A real insight into the man, far removed from the cuddly meme he’s trying to become on social media
If Adams and co had done even a scintilla of what they perpetrated in Belfast and London in New York and Boston, he’d be stuck in an orange jumpsuit with electrodes strapped to his vitals
Four senior congressmen write to Boris Johnson to reiterate there will be no US-UK trade deal if the legislation to override the EU-UK Withdrawal Agreement isn’t pulled
The death of the Queen being announced by a dick pic WhatsApp group would be a fitting next instalment in this series of United Kingdom: The Banter Years
@siennamarla
The fact a national newspaper used the headline “Good Friday” the day after over 800 people had died was incredible, horrendous and deranged.
The idea that getting the King to shake hands with Von Der Leyden would wipe the scales from intransigent unionist eyes really is extraordinary. No.10 and the NIO are both full of halfwits.
Amid the Barry McElduff furore, the question needs to be asked why
@newbelfast
- former Sinn Fein Lord Mayor of Belfast and self proclaimed "mayor for all the people" - felt it appropriate to retweet the video.
Well, the good news is that 60,000 people sitting in an outside bowl can now be diverted towards pubs, social clubs and house parties for a day of sustained and prolonged drinking. Hurrah for following the science.
Northern Ireland has seen a dissident parade lead to rioting, a concert turn into an unvarnished Provo fest and a march named after a sectarian killer take place in recent months. Maybe Suella Braverman has a point?
On the occasion of them being knocked out of the World Cup, my piece from the time on why it is difficult to naturally feel any instinctive sympathy for the Republic of Ireland’s women’s team
Always amusing this time of year that nationalist and republican talking heads think inviting a few unionists to some seminars and chucking out the odd New Ireland buzzword gives Féile a free pass to host the Provo version of LiveAid
Imagine surveying all of the problems facing Northern Ireland and thinking that a heap of a stadium in West Belfast is top of the pile for money and attention
So Macron misspoke...
But see how this slip allows certain actors to shift the debate and the narrative from the isolation of the UK at the G7 summit and the refusal to countenance ready made solutions to fix problems with NI Protocol.
After her Article 16 shenanigans last Friday, wonder what Ursula von der Leyen has planned for Northern Ireland today. Invasion of Larne? Kidnapping Mr Tayto? Saying the Ulster Fry is a sub-standard breakfast?
Good, withering stuff on the ridiculousness of parts of Irish America. Would be funny if, you know, they hadn’t paid for a fair old chunk of the bombs and the bullets.
Pretty wild justification of what happened at the weekend. Why is it so difficult for nationalism and republicanism to ever accept that it might be in the wrong?

Still quite something we were encouraged to treat Pelosi’s utterances on Northern Ireland as though they were etched on tablets of stone. She should be told where to go next time it happens.
A statement on Afghanistan by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., is being denounced on Twitter for "unspeakable foolishness," "complete partisan crap," and disingenuous to women who many expect will face abuse and oppression under the Taliban regime.
John Finucane - a qualified lawyer, in addition to his occasional interest in the North Belfast constituency - has told TalkBack he found the guidance and regulations confusing. These people are taking the piss in the most insulting way possible.

in 1994 the IRA murdered John (Frederick) Anthony, 38, civilian janitor at Lurgan police station. Daugher Emma, 3, sitting directly behind her father in the car, had both legs broken as shrapnel slammed into her head. Brother, 9 and her mother in other side of car

The NIO gets you eventually - bar the odd honourable exception - but the speed with which Baker and Heaton-Harris have gone native is quite extraordinary.
British & unionist politicians have been entirely too quiet about this weekend’s rioting in N Ireland. Violence including shameful attacks on the police should never happen. Those who want to rip up the Good Friday Agreement will be unsuccessful.
🚨The Minister of State for NI says the Windsor Framework WON'T be "reopened" to satisfy some of the "hardest lines of opinion."
