Spoke to a friend in India recently. They said it's like living in a country with not one but 20 radio rawanda type broadcast orgs blaring incendiary stuff demonizing a particular group all the time. This has near universal support from the educated elite. Pretty dark stuff

I'm 7 months pregnant today. For the first 5 months I threw up every day. I also moved to a new city and a new house. Then I interviewed for a PM role and transitioned to a new role. Then a pandemic hit. I've handled all of it it stoically but today I feel EXHAUSTED. Send hugs

Nearly forgot that yesterday was my 9th anniversary at Microsoft. These 9 years at Microsoft have been the best almost-decade of my life. Thanks to MSFT I got to live in Chicago, meet my husband, do amazing work with great people, Have a great set of mentors. Truly Blessed!

When my baby was born she was at the 3rd percentile of weight. It was really distressing to take in. Today at her 6 month weigh in she's now in the 16th percentile. It may not mean much but for me it's been an arduous, exhausting journey to get her to a decent place on the curve

I don’t know if this makes sense but for me it is not the duration of the meetings but the total number of meetings in a day. I think the max number of meetings anyone should do in a day is 5. Anything more than that is brain overload.

In India because my mother needed emergency heart surgery. The surgery was complex, took 5 hours and 4 cardiac surgeons worked on her. Thankfully all went well. Give doctors & nurses everything in the world because they are just incredible. So incredibly grateful for all of them

Today I’m celebrating my husband who got an Econ paper accepted in the most prestigious journal in his field *WHILE* he was taking care of the baby full time. He took the baby to all his co-author meetings, made revisions while she slept in his arms, cooked dinner..incredible!

Our elderly neighbor felt bad for us that we were raising a newborn on our own & that our parents couldn’t travel. So she brought us dinner + installed herself as a standin grandma to spoil our baby. Pittsburgh folks are just extraordinary warm!
