We are bitterly disappointed by yesterday's #TVLicence decision. This is a kick in the teeth for millions of over 75s who have had a torrid time during this crisis. @10DowningStreet & the @BBC must sit down and agree a solution to keep TV licences free. 📺

It is hard to think of anything more distressing and frightening for an older person than to have a bailiff turn up at their front door, demanding entry, over a #TVlicence . We're still calling for the BBC and the Government to save free TV for over 75s

💊We are delighted to learn that the free prescriptions age will remain at 60. Age UK campaigned against raising the age to 66, which would have penalised older people on modest incomes or managing multiple health conditions.

The Conservative party promised to uphold the triple lock. Anything less would be a real-terms cut in the state pension - worth on average about £9000 a year, yet comprises the bulk of most older people's income. The triple lock is a matter of survival
