@whatdoidoman I usually decide when there’s a sudden letter change in the speech like if they’re saying “Watashi”. I’ll have the first frame be an open for “wa”, slightly less open for “ta” and then partially showing teeth for “shi”.

@aweirdtree123 For me it’s just a personal thing lol but I find that starting with the mouth first saves me a lot of time and is the most easiest thing to do before any movement since you don’t have to focus on detail just yet mostly form on the dialogue and then body gestures etc.

@godOfTh32745077 I use the original procreate! As for resources though I would say YouTube videos will help you understand the basics of animation fundamentals, for more advanced stuff I also buy animation genga flipbooks but honestly it’s just practice that helps you get better
