Are you comfortable with cops being tasked to decide whether you or someone else has a legitimate medical reason to be wearing a mask? No? Then you should be paying attention to the mask bans that are being put in place around the country and should be speaking up about them.

My husband & I keep saying that even if the pandemic was suddenly over & we could be w/ more people again, how could we? There are so many people we don’t trust anymore: family, friends, churches, etc. I guess we could meet new people but it would still be difficult.

So, if Covid tests aren't being updated to pick up on new variants & most people aren't testing or if they are they're getting negative tests bc of the poor quality of tests, then of course that makes it easier to pretend that it's "just a cold" or "just some random virus".

Something so bizarre about Americans: we're not taught (or refuse to learn bc of our hubris) correct ways of dealing with any kind of communicable illness (flus, colds, viruses, etc.), so when we are thrown into a global pandemic & are forced to *try* to learn, we act like 1/3

It's interesting to see climate activists who aren't taking Covid seriously complaining about people not taking the climate crisis seriously. It's all connected; climate justice, disability justice, racial justice, etc. But so many don't seem to be cognizant of that reality.

One of the things that I've been struggling w/is I'm usually someone who is very happy for other people when they have good things happen to them & they get to do things. But w/the pandemic, having people move on w/o the rest of us, I've become very cynical/bitter in that area.

@katimcf True! There are definitely groups of people who already knew how to deal with this even before it started, but society decided they'd rather rush headlong into oblivion instead of listen to their wisdom.

Reading The Future Is Disabled has given me more motivation to imagine what could be cultivated for good to help others. So I’m curious, #covidconscious friends, what would a new normal look like to you (rather than “back to normal) w/the realities of COVID now in our lives?

Heading to the ER. Something going on w/my throat/thyroid after that biopsy. Not happy about the pain/difficulty but even less happy about possible exposure to COVID while I’m there. 😕

@rallykate That our lives do not matter. That doesn’t seem very “raging liberal” of you.
