I feel for Tang, the staff and the players. Tomlin was working his butt off to right a wrong. This could seriously backfire for the Un Pr. The best thing that can happen is the students and alumni, and fans rally around the team the rest of the year. They need it more than ever.

Larned rallies for an 11-point deficit in the fourth quarter and won it on the Mason Perez backdoor layup with 3 seconds to go to beat Hugoton 69-67. That punched their first trip to state since 1994. The Indians went on a 30-17 fourth quarter run. What a fun game to watch!

Baylor drops a spot because they barely beat 6-5 Texas Tech with a backup qb, but Alabama stays in the same spot despite rallying to beat a 6-5 Auburn team in 4OT. Goes to show that it’s all about the name on the front of the jersey.

Quite a matchup on Saturday in the 3A Boys Sub-State final in Kingman. Two Scott City classmates in the Class of 2015, who helped the Beavers win the 3A State Championship their senior year, will face off. Sloan Baker at Chaparral & Trey O’Neil at Hugoton.

The GWAC gets both finals spots in the girls Class 3A title game with Hugoton and Goodland. The league was loaded this year, with four other quality teams that could knock off many other ranked teams in the state.

The GWAC had six girls teams in a midseason tournament final (Cimarron, Colby, Goodland, Holcomb, Hugoton, Scott City), with three winners (Cim, Gdlnd, Hug), & two of the finals head to head. I'd say it's about as good of league for 3A/4A as anywhere else in the state.

Goodland native Brook Berringer with Coach Tom Osborne on the north side of Memorial Stadium in Lincoln. He was a great role model for kids in northwest Kansas and beyond. Hard to believe it’s been 25 years since he passed away.

@LifeofFitz If my memory serves me right, Utah wasn't the first option in the state of Utah for the Pac 12 back in 2010. Stanford and I believe Cal had a solid stance on not allowing BYU into the conference.

I do think that schools should be closed for a time period. However, to close it for the rest of the year right now seems too strong. IMO, they should review this in a week by week basis, then decide by mid April if they need to shut down, then do so.

Saw this this morning on the touch wall inside the Hutchinson Sports Arena. Hard to believe it’s been 23 years ago when my alma mater, Belleville, won the title here. I remember rushing the court on the buzzer-beating layup! What a memory.

The broadcasts for the NCAA Tournament have been good. One thing I wish they would change is eliminating interviews with the coaches in the middle of a half. Halftime and postgame interviews are fine, not during the game.

I think the @NFL needs to change their rule on affiliates broadcasting the conference championship games, outside of the flagship station. That’s total garbage they can’t carry their regular guys. Fans want to hear their play by play guys.
