Left France as a 16-year-old. Through the ranks. Games at Carrington, Leigh & Old Trafford. His first goal vs City U18s. Wet and cold nights in the EFL trophy. Heartbreak in the UYL & FA Youth Cup.
Dealing with the brutal treatment at academy level for years, kicks & hair
I watched this game live with about 6-7 friends [mostly non United fans].
Despite Garnacho and Norkett both scoring hat-tricks, they were all asking me about one midfielder…
Throwback to September 2021 when Alejandro Garnacho played as a no.10 for the U18s 💫
He scored a hat-trick in an 8-2 win! He never really played in that position again but it was fun at the time. Devastating in transition. First game he really caught my eye.
Can’t say for certain but when Erik ten Hag was talking to Kobbie Mainoo it looked like he was telling him that he will be a part of this in the future. A warm embrace.
Zidane Iqbal: “Playing a very strong Liverpool team and obviously coming away with the win, I’d just like to thank the manager for putting his trust in me and Sav.” [mu]
Zidane Iqbal vs Liverpool (45 minute cameo).
Very tidy performance from the 19-year-old. Played in midfield vs Fabinho, Thiago & Keita.

Kobbie Mainoo replaces Alejandro Garnacho on the wall at the Jimmy Murphy Centre in Carrington.
Who do you think has the potential to win the award in 2023/24?
Matěj Kovář’s story since joining United is a heart-warming one & a lesson in never writing a youngster off too soon.
— Recalled from League One side Swindon Town as a 20-year-old, conceding 41 goals in 20 appearances.
— Two years later, a champion at Sparta Prague and now a
Stuff like this is why I love Manchester Utd.
Alejandro Garnacho with his Dad and brother in 2020 after signing for Manchester Utd as a 16-year-old.
Three years later and he’s now on the front poster of Old Trafford. Incredible stuff.
Youth. Courage. Success
You can’t teach leadership.
When Radek Vitek made a mistake before HT, Rhys Bennett (c) and Jurado (vice-captain) ran straight to him to get him back up on his feet.
Two leaders on and off the pitch for the U18s all season.
Zidane Iqbal vs Melbourne Victory (pre-season)
Another good performer from

who looked comfortable in possession and always looked for the ball.

I haven’t seen a winger get the better of Harry Amass in ANY game this season
Players constantly going over to the other wing to avoid him. What a season.
16-year-old Louis Jackson was in double history lesson studying for his GCSEs the day he was called up to replace Tyler Fredricson (sickness bug). He left class and, still in uniform, made it to Carrington in time for the 4pm pre-match meal [

CONFIRMED 💥
Tyler & Jack Fletcher have joined Manchester Utd & have been included in our Professional Development Phase players list.
Deal was done and signed a long time ago. Never in doubt 🔴
With the year coming to a close, a look back at a special night in the clubs history.
Over 67,000 fans at Old Trafford to watch an U18s match. Nobody does it like Manchester United.
The Class of 2022.
Scott McTominay, Tom Heaton and Jadon Sancho are among those who have gone out of their way to make sure Savage and Iqbal have settled quickly. They have been warmly received by the whole squad [

The best thing about Kobbie Mainoo at academy level was the consistency. He never dropped below a certain standard.
Polished game, does all the basics brilliantly. Seems to still be the case at first team level. Now about adding those moments of brilliance on top of what he’s
ETH: “He is ready to also to pick that role [alongside Casemiro]” 🗣️
Been following Kobbie Mainoo’s progress since 2020/21.
I’ve seen him play right-wing, no.6, no.8, no.10 and striker over the years. I think he’s at his best as a no.6 - gets him on the ball more often. Allows
Two clips of Kobbie Mainoo in training vs Fred. Similar scenarios. Exactly what we saw a lot of in academy football.
Body feint in 1st clip and rolling his marker in the 2nd. Only a training clip but Kobbie has always been very good at this.
