You know what, today feels like a good day for a fantasy basketball RANKINGS DROP ‼️
So much effort went into this, excited to share it with you all!
Find my Top 250 rankings for categories below 🔽
Over the course of my life, I’ve been able to watch the Miami Heat play in 7 different NBA Finals
I am 28 years old
They’ve been in the finals for a quarter of my life
25%
How many fan bases can say the same?
Exactly 357 days ago, Jimmy Butler said this after losing to Boston in Game 7
On Tuesday, Miami can complete their sweep
It hasn’t been easy, but Jimmy kept his word
While Pat Riley is The Godfather, let’s not forget to give credit where credit is due.
This is the hidden face behind all of Miami’s moves over the last three decades 👀
Andy Elisburg ladies and gentleman 💪🏻
@HeatvsHaters
Gabriel Nnamdi Vincent just lit up Game 2 of the NBA finals
▪️23 points
▪️4 threes
▪️2 steals
▪️8-12 FG
▪️Team-high +22
Back to the 3-0-5 with the series tied 🧘🏻♂️
If you thought a 28-5 free throw advantage to Boston through 47 minutes was bad in Game 3, just wait until tonight
This is Scott Foster’s time to SHINE ✨
@HeatvsHaters
The frustrating part about the score is that I REALLY like what Miami’s been able to do against Denver’s defense
Bam is dominating the drop, ball handlers are penetrating, and MOST of our looks have been solid
Shots just aren’t falling
Strus/Martin a combined 0-15 FG
Life sure is easy when everything goes your way
Foul calls, shots, bounces, etc…
But how you respond to adversity is what separates winners and losers
Sudden death in The Garden
RUN IT BACK
I cannot believe I just stayed up to watch the Miami Heat lose to a Clippers’ team missing FOUR STARTERS.
No more excuses. It’s officially time to panic. This team just SUCKS.
@HeatvsHaters
Knicks’ third overall pick getting swatted in the postseason by Miami’s undrafted player who was on a 2-way deal last season is just symbolic
HEAT IN 4
Just finished rewatching Game 4 and it's clear that Miami beat themselves more than anything Boston was doing
Despite the shooting disparity, this game was there for the taking
Unfortunately, mental mistakes on both sides of the ball were what did them in
A quick 🧵
Kyle Lowry this series ⬇️
▪️12.1 points
▪️5.1 assists
▪️1.3 steals
▪️1.3 blocks
▪️1.1 threes
Poise, leadership, and big-time shots when the Heat needed it most
Worth every penny 🔥
The non Wemby/Chet guy that impressed me the most tonight was…
MALAKI BRANHAM
- 20 minutes
- 15 points
- 6-8 FG
- 2-2 3PT
- 1-1 FT
- 1 block
- 1 steal
He likely won’t find many minutes this season, but I believe he has all the tools to be a really good player 📈
Tomorrow is a career-defining game for Jimmy Butler
He’s had lots of memorable moments, but snatching Boston’s soul in the midst of a momentum shift would be paramount
How will he respond?
The Miami Heat is shooting 44% on 'wide open' threes throughout the playoffs, per Second Spectrum
Seems like the narrative should be focused more on how they are generating so many open looks instead of the boring regression talk
“AND THAT IS HOW MIAMI HAS 9 ECF APPEARANCES SINCE 2005 WHILE THE KNICKS HAVE ONLY HAD 5 WINNING SEASONS IN THAT SPAN, THEY TRIED TO BLAME THE WEATHER AND HURT JIMMY BUTLER BUT IT DIDN’T MATTER, HEAT IN SIX”
All of this resulted in 7 Miami points. They won by 8.
So, to put a button on it, hopefully once and for all 🔽
It's NOT the refs and it's NOT the weather. It's BAD playoff basketball
New York is getting outcoached, outplayed, and outhustled
Heat in 5
De’Aaron Fox appreciation tweet ⬇️
— Fox is taking a career-high 8.9 threes a night and shooting at a career-high 40% clip
— Fox is making a career-high 3.6 threes per game, which is DOUBLE his previous career-high of 1.8
— Over the last 4 games, Fox has made TWENTY-ONE threes
Watch Erik Spoelstra call timeout right as the ref runs past him and she just completely ignores him. Heat lose.
How does this happen?
@NBA
@OfficialNBARefs
Adrian Griffin in the preseason about Malik Beasley:
“We talked about this prior to this game, kinda his role going into the season he's going to have to take the toughest assignments most nights."
Malik Beasley:
Duncan Robinson's off-ball movement has done wonders for Miami's offense this postseason
These two plays from down the stretch in Game 2 are great examples
A quick 🧵
It’s been over 8 months since Ime Udoka was fired
An entire regular season was played
Boston made it to the Conference Finals
In reality, the Celtics are a bunch of fake tough guys who are getting curb stomped by the better team
Spare me the excuses 🧹
The
#Nets
have TWO players shooting at a 50/40/90 clip during their current 10-game win streak:
Kevin Durant - 29.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 5.1 assists on 58/41/97%
Kyrie Irving - 28.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 5.3 assists on 50/42/95%
Best of luck to opposing teams 🍀
It will get lost in tonight’s loss, but Caleb Martin’s offensive confidence is something to bookmark going forward
He just slid into the Jimmy Butler role and dropped 22/8 on 53/50/100 while serving as the POA defender
Isaiah Hartenstein ends his week with the following averages:
10.5 points
13.5 rebounds
2.7 assists
2.2 steals
3.0 blocks
68% FG
It’s hard to state just how good he’s been in fantasy hoops and in real life 🚀
@Toure
Actually, I’m feeling pretty good today. I have a beautiful family and great friends & will continue working hard to support them.
Sounds like you are the one a little worked up, despite your candidate winning. 😳
Jalen Johnson is an absolute MUST ADD until further notice
21 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, and 2 steals on 9/13 FG in 30 minutes
Quin Snyder even played him over Saddiq Bey to close the game
Only 15% rostered in Yahoo leagues 📈
Lots of memorable moments in Game 1 but this sequence really stands out
With 4:32 left, the Heat lead is down to three and the Knicks have some momentum
Vincent runs the PnR with Bam and pulls up with confidence and drains the three 🎥
Quick 🧵
@5ReasonsSports
As if the Pistons couldn’t be any more dysfunctional, they have now decided to move Ausar Thompson to the bench
Livers/Hayes starting over Ivey/Ausar
Good job, Monty!
Jalen Duren through Detroit’s first 3 games:
18.0 points
15.3 rebounds
2.6 blocks
76% FG
75% FT 👀
Everything we had hoped for and then some. Hard to believe he’s still only 19 years young 🚀
Well, we were spoiled tonight, folks ⬇️
— Keegan with 47 points and 12 threes
— Butler and SGA game winners
— Cam Thomas with 41 points
— Chet Holmgren with 9 blocks
— Luka Doncic with 40/12/10
— Embiid with 42/15/3
Such an unbelievable night of hoops 🔥
Kyle Lowry — despite his well documented struggles — is having a better shooting season than Max Strus
FG%
Lowry - 40.9%
Strus - 39.5%
3PT%
Lowry - 33.7%
Strus - 33.1%
Miami’s 3PT specialist is shooting 33%
This is not talked about enough
@5ReasonsSports
Just a minute later, Vincent disrupts a pass meant for Randle. Miami gets the loose ball and is awarded a 3-on-2 with multiple shots at the rim because Randle doesn't hustle back. Just watch. He doesn't even reappear on camera until Bam dunks the ball
Just over two minutes into the game, he gets beaten off the dribble by 34-year-old Kevin Love and fails to recover in time, which gives up an easy hook for Bam
@CWilliamson44
This is false. This team no longer has Jae Crowder or Derrick Jones Jr., who were extremely important for various reasons.
Losing Crowder was huge this offseason... the Heat desperately need a defensive minded 4 that can stretch the floor. Crowder was that.
Just finished rewatching Game 1 and I think there are some positive defensive takeaways to glean despite the loss
Spoiler: Miami needs to strategically mix in more zone
A quick 🧵
For all you fellow NBA sickos who binged the NBA over playoff football, this is for YOU
Here are the biggest fantasy basketball takeaways from Saturday’s slate: ⬇️
🧵
Jordan Hawkins looks like the clear add over Dyson Daniels without C.J. McCollum
31 points
7 rebounds
7 threes
Team-high 38 minutes
He won’t do your FG% much favors, but I’m labeling him a must-add until further notice.
89% available on Yahoo! 📈
No recaps tonight, spent the evening celebrating my cousins wedding
I love these guys more than life itself (and even Jalen Johnson 😉)
See y’all tomorrow! 💤
