Here's a concern about allowing two liberos in NCAA volleyball that not many people have mentioned yet. Will we see liberos that share playing time get less recognition like setters running a 6-2 offense? It's already a struggle to get just one libero on an All-American team.

Since people read way too deeply into things, just want to again say that it is now 2024 and the transfer portal is here to stay. How a coach uses it is up to them. You can have an issue with the portal without having an issue with those who use it to their advantage.

NCAA VB Attendance Regular Season 2023 (compared to 2022 from stats.ncaa) 67.9% of all D1 teams saw an increase in avg. attendance. 79% of Power 5 teams saw an increase in avg. attendance. Missouri TRIPLED their attendance in 2023. Mizzou had over 3180/game in SEC play.

Even though the June 15 rule is in place, coaches are still recruiting these young athletes through their club coaches. There’s way too many loopholes these days.

Once I realized that my success as a volleyball player was never about how many medals I won or where I ended up playing in college but rather about my growth as a person and the impact that had on those around me… I wish I could go back and do it all again.

I’m happy they’re getting rid of the double contact call, but I will still call a set sloppy when I see it. It’s important to set clean. But now it’ll turn into “you’re lucky they got rid of doubles” and “good thing you weren’t setting back in the day” when I see a sloppy set.

When a player goes down and you’re a fan of the opposing team, you keep your mouth shut, period. Anyways, Florida fought hard and I cannot wait to watch them in conference play 🫶🏼

During my 11’s-18’s club volleyball career, my team and I qualified every year except for two: 16’s and 17’s, the two most important recruiting years. Still, I had interest from coaches and played at the D2 level. Whether you qualify for Nationals doesn’t matter for recruiting.

Update: glad to see that the post was deleted. Was made in completely poor taste and directed at a team who went through so much and still managed to pull out 19 wins in one of the toughest conferences in the country. But again, nothing left to be said. Time to move on.

As a volleyball community, we're constantly asking for more media exposure and recognition on major platforms, and rightfully so. At the same time, we can't just bash them every time we do get the exposure either.
