The Ooku anime adapts 15 chapters of 79. The first episode being 1 hour & 20 minutes was the 1st volume. Like every shoujo, the 10 episodes was just the beginning to the entire story. It’s a very faithful adaptation. The 15th chapter is the 1st in the 4th volume.

One thing that makes Ooku so good is that it’s not “girl boss women take the roles of men so ..” No its nuanced & actually critiques the patriarchy & how women can enforce it. Placing women in charge of a system that benefits men doesn’t magically make things better for everyone
