For new Elden Ring players:
- Using spirit ashes is OK
- Co-op is OK
- Using any build you prefer is OK
- Looking up a guide is OK
- Power leveling is OK
- Asking the community for help is OK
Don’t let any elitists ruin your fun in the lands between or the lands of shadow!
The saddest thing about being an older gamer is losing your old gaming squad.
Life gets in the way sometimes: Divorces, deaths, job changes, time zone changes, family additions, etc
Gone but not forgotten. I’ll always remember the good times 🫡
I’m sure I’ll be called “soft” for this but I 100% support the idea of developers permanently banning gamers who make death or r*pe threats.
I’m 100% for trash talk in video games but that’s not trash talk. It’s just gross.
P.S. Freedom of speech doesn’t cover threats
Some people are mad Ciri might be the new lead for the Witcher? Really?
If so I have to imagine you:
- Didn’t play Wild Hunt
- Are a hate merchant/grifter
- Feel insecure about playing as a female
I got to assume most Witcher fans are okay with Ciri taking over.
Your take?
My 0.02 on the Assassin’s Creed Shadows drama:
- Yasuke was a real person of African origin who served Oda Nobunaga. This isn’t a Netflix Cleopatra situation
- AC always takes liberties with history, don’t act like they are ever textbook accurate
- Don’t like it? Don’t buy it
Anyone around here remember the Army of Two series?
This is one I still think about fondly.
I have a soft spot for over the top dude bro shooters 😆 these were a blast to play though! Would love it if EA gave a series like this a 2nd chance.
So how do we feel about the Twin Moon Knight fight?
Took me a couple tries to get the timing down but my beloved Mimic Tear and I got it done ❄️
Haven’t had a ton of play time this weekend but the DLC is pretty good (so far). I can see why some aren’t feeling it though.
Anyone else notice how Xbox stars a variety of female leads for several of their upcoming games?
I think that’s awesome
- South of Midnight looks great and that art style is wicked
- Perfect Dark surprised a ton of us
- Fable is looking like an absolute gem
Good times ahead!
Gamers: Should an expansion/DLC (if large enough in scale) be allowed a nomination for Game of the Year?
I think Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree is about to try and make an argument for that 😳
ONE MONTH TO GO
For those who bought a Xbox Series S or X…do you regret it or are you happy with your purchase?
I own a XSX and I don’t regret it. I’ve enjoyed a lot of games via GamePass.
That said it’s not my only system (also own PS5/Switch) so games skipping Xbox doesn’t affect me.
Gamers: Does a character’s attractiveness in design affect your willingness to try a game?
I saw a video arguing one reason gamers gave the First Descendant a chance while ignoring Concord was due to the different approach in aesthetics.
Curious how y’all feel on that.
Two things can be true at once.
Did Starfield fail to meet the hype of a generation defining title? YES.
Was Starfield a good game that was enjoyable at launch? YES.
It wasn’t trash nor was it a generation defining title. Some of y’all do too much when it comes to this game 🚀
My thoughts on Shadow of the Erdtree:
✅ Most of the DLC felt tough but fair (if you use all tools available)
✅ A lot of cool new weapons, skills and gear to play with
✅ Most boss fights were great
✅ Art design and soundtrack are 🔥
❌ “Forced” fragment hunt was annoying
If there is one video game I pray turns out great it’s Fable.
I adored Fable 1-3 and then the studio (Lionhead) was run into the ground. This second chance for the IP is everything to me.
Please please please please please turn out well 🦵🐓

I don’t know if this is me being old or a cheap ass but a game being on sale for $55.99 doesn’t feel like a sale.
I’m either willing to pay $70+ at launch or I’ll wait for a game to drop below $40.
There is no in between for me 🤷♂️
Are you one of the 32+ million people who bought Horizon: Zero Dawn or Horizon Forbidden West?
The IP seems to get a lot of hate online but I’d argue it’s a fun series.
Plus I don’t get the Aloy hate but can admit I’m bias as I instantly love ginger females in games 😂
Do you think video games are more fun when you don’t worry about getting 100% of the achievements/trophies?
Curious how y’all feel.
As for me some games can be fun to 100% but most become a drag. Lame collectathons and fluffed out filler content aren’t a good time.
It’s odd that some gamers believe you have to swear allegiance to one brand over another.
I’ve enjoyed gaming for 35 or so years across Sega, Nintendo, PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
I couldn’t imagine swearing loyalty to only one and missing out on so much gaming greatness!
Gamers: Agree or disagree?
If money isn’t an issue PC is the best place to play.
If you can only get 1 console get a PlayStation.
If you want affordable variety in gaming get GamePass/Xbox.
If you want unique gaming go with Nintendo.
There’s a place for everyone 🧡💙💚❤️
I love Soulsborne games 💙
Which is your favorite?
I saw a post saying these types of games aren’t fun but I couldn’t disagree more. These games have gripped me in ways most others couldn’t. The atmosphere, the combat, the boss battles, the art design, the music, just pure 🔥
Gamers: Have you ever played a game, really disliked it…only to try it again years later and fall in love with it?
Here are 4 games I’ve had that experience with.
I think sometimes you have to be in the right head space or mood to appreciate a certain game.
Or I’m weird 😂
I feel like I’m the only one who hasn’t beaten Shadow of the Erdtree yet 😂
That’s ok, I’m old and a bit slow yeah?
After some research got to some new areas and another remembrance boss down.
Can’t wait to make a bit more progress after work! I got like 5 or 6 bosses left.
Rapid fire takes:
- Gaming isn’t boring in 2024
- Assassin’s Creed has always played around with historical figures and was never a substitute for a history class
- I’d love more 2D-HD remakes of older classic games
- Same games deserve to fail and we don’t have to feign mercy
How hyped are you for Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2?
Me personally…semi-hyped.
The 5 year wait made my hype wane a bit (STOP REVEALING GAMES SO FAR OUT) but I still believe it’s going to be a good experience for those who enjoy narrative focused games.
Looking for gaming friends 🎮
Here’s some video games I love:
- Forspoken
- Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League
- Redfall
- Saints Row (Reboot only)
- LOTR Gollum
- Ride to Hell: Retribution
- Warcraft 3 Reforged
- Balan Wonderworld
- The Day Before
- Aliens Colonial Marines
It seems it’s controversial to be looking forward to Hellblade 2?
“It’s only 8 hours”
Rift Apart was 10 hours and cost $70
“Xbox players mock these types of games”
No fanboys did. Fanboys =/= fans
“Xbox is dying so who cares”
True but the game still looks good.
I’m in 🤘
Why are you on Twitter?
Do you want to become a famous influencer? Are you a business owner? Are you trying to make friends? Bored?
I find myself questioning why I’m here.
I wanted to make gaming friends/share my love for gaming but feel like that’s not attainable anymore.
10 video games that were reviewed harshly and/or hated on social media that I enjoyed anyway:
- Starfield
- Dark Souls 2
- Crackdown 3
- Ryse: Son of Rome
- The Order 1886
- Quantum Break
- Resident Evil 5
- Fear 3
- Rumble Roses
- 50 Cent Blood on the Sand
Are you buying or passing on Black Myth Wukong?
It’s been awhile since I’ve seen a game with both this much hype AND so much controversy at once.
I’m holding off for now as I’m busy with other things but plan to get it down the road as it does look good.
Happy Monday kids!
From Software Soulsborne platinums acquired so far:
Demon’s Souls ✅
Dark Souls ✅
Dark Souls 2 ❌
Bloodborne ✅
Dark Souls 3 ❌
Elden Ring ✅
DS2 is in progress and DS3 run will start sometime in the near future🤘
Am I the only one who takes a lot longer to beat/complete video games than the online estimate?
“Game takes 10 hours to beat, 15 to complete” basically translates to “20 hours to beat, 30-40 to complete” for my old ass.
Life’s too short to let people shame you out of enjoying things.
Want to watch the new Sonic movie?
Go for it.
Enjoy gaming? Or anime? Or collectibles? Or reading? Or sports? Or hiking? Or anything?
Go for it.
Adults who shame other adults for having fun are the weird ones.
I think there is a time and place for negative takes on here.
EX: If you play a video game or watched a show and disliked it by all means go off on why.
But if someone is posting about their love of a thing don’t rain on their parade.
Seem fair? Or am I off on that?
Gamers: Should developers disable achievements/trophies if you play on easy mode?
IMO it’s fine. The developer aimed at the core experience being normal or harder and rewards those who do.
But you can play the whole game on easy and aren’t denied any content.
Your thoughts?
@TheClubXbox
While I do agree, I do think to some degree an appealing design can draw people to try a game while less appealing designs could push some away
Is there such a thing as a perfect video game?
I don’t know.
But I’d argue these 4 games come pretty close to being there. They are arguably the best in their genre and amongst the best games I have ever played.
*IF* Forza Horizon 5 goes to PlayStation consoles there’s no further proof needed that Xbox is going to exit the console space and go full 3rd party.
That’s one of their highest rated, most popular and best selling IP.
Just calling it like I see it 🫡 🪦
What’s your favorite Assassin’s Creed game?
I torn between AC2 (Ezio is the goat) and Odyssey (went with Kassandra on my playthrough as I heard amazing things about her VA’s performance).
How many hours will you play a video game before deciding it’s not for you?
When I first played Darksiders: Genesis I played for an hour, was disappointed and stopped. Years later I retried it, gave it a few hours and had a blast.
A good reminder that some games are slow burns!
Question: Is it ever OK to be happy about a game failing?
We all know how important it is to support developers. But at the same time do you ever feel a game that failed deserved its fate?
If so would that make it OK to not be sympathetic when discussing said games?
Curious.
If HiFi Rush 2 ends up skipping Xbox I’m going to laugh harder than I have in ages.
That aside though glad Tango Gameworks will live on with Krafton and that they plan to expand the HiFi universe.
Major fumble by Xbox here 🤦♂️
Does negativity on X reward you better than positivity?
I focus on positive gaming tweets 99% of the time and engagement has been meh for awhile. I posted ONE negative tweet yesterday and it did significantly better.
I don’t plan to stick to negative but that’s kinda sad 😂
Microsoft is shutting down Arkane Austin and Tango Gameworks???
Bruh.
If you asked me what my faith is in the Xbox brand after the last 6 months of news at this point it’s basically 0.
Arkane was forced to make RF and Tango released an amazing game.
“Astrobot isn’t worth $60”
Why?
I look at it this way. Let’s say the game is 10-12 hours long. That’s $5-$6 per hour of fun. That’s good.
Not every game has to be 100 hours of fluffed up bloated repetitive content. And that doesn’t make it not worth the price of admission.
15 hours of an amazing video game > 50+ hours of a video game with bloat and filler content
I will always die on that hill.
Don’t get me wrong it’s OK if you prefer clearing 500 towers, collecting 999 collectibles and cycling through repetitive side content.
Thats just not me.
“Gaming quality is subjective”
I’ve never truly appreciated that phrase as much as I do now given the Hellblade 2 discourse.
To some it’s a lame, pretentious and dull slog. To others it’s an artistic, moving and visceral work of great visionaries.
Funny thing isn’t it?
“Why does Xbox get so much hate?”
PS had one meh Gen (PS3) and has delivered every gen outside of that.
Nintendo saved gaming and for every bad gen they had a great one.
Xbox had 1 great gen and GamePass. They’ve struggled for over 10 years to deliver consistently.
That’s why
I beat Fallout 3 last night 👍
- Surprisingly good story
- Engaging characters
- Solid combat
- Memorable moments
- Quality RPG aspects w lots of stat building and decision making
- Fun and well paced gameplay flow.
Gonna load a prior save and do some more side content now!
Do most women hate video games this much?
According to a survey (source unconfirmed) women are repulsed at large by men who play video games as their primary hobby.
I can see why IF guys let the hobby take over their life…but that can be said of most hobbies right?
Soulsborne fans: Are you a fan of invasions? Or do you find them annoying?
A chat on here got me thinking about that topic and I’m curious how the rest of the community feels.
They feel more like annoying hindrances/troll opportunities to me but I’m probably the odd one out 😂
Thanks to an insanely generous Twitter friend (who gifted me the money for it) I was able to get Astro Bot 😭
If I get permission to shout out I will but for now it’s remaining anonymous out of respect. I am so grateful 🙏
I’m so ready to dive in.
LET’S GO!!!
Me: Only posts about gaming stuff
Me: Only likes gaming tweets or tweets from gamers
Twitter: YOU WANNA SEE A BUNCH OF BRAIN DEAD POLITICAL TAKES?!??
Ugh.
Can’t wait for it to be 2025. The next couple of months are going to be unbearable.
I don’t know if it’s hot take but Square-Enix wanting to become a consistently multiplatform publisher is good.
Even IF it was just to PC and Nintendo platforms (Xbox is the smallest so they have to weigh risk/reward)
Been working for Sega and Capcom.
Let’s go!
Gamers: Is it OK to express a negative reaction to a game reveal? Or does that automatically make you a hater?
I’ve seen a lot of PlayStation accounts that are hurt and upset with those who didn’t click with the Concord reveal.
Curious on your thoughts on sharing negative takes
I noticed myself getting carried away by all the negative news and the doom & gloom social media waves, so I’m gonna go chill as I start up Life is Strange 2.
At the end of the day we can’t control what happens with X, P or N so might as well enjoy what we can as we can 🍻
My youngest son (15 yo) asked me if we can play through the Halo campaigns together sometime.
So needless to say I redownloaded Halo Master Chief Collection, 5 and Infinite.
When they hit that age they are usually with their friends so that made me so happy to hear 🥲
*Checks gaming Twitter*
- Black Myth Wukong is absolutely dominating with 10 million + sold
- Concord is struggling hard at launch today
- Dustborn bombed
Did I miss anything else or am I all caught up on today’s events?
I saw that tweet going around about how awful it is to let your kids play video games.
Just wanted to say my oldest son is going to college this month on an esports scholarship because of how good he got at competitive gaming.
Take that judgmental aholes 🫡
I have mixed feelings on the recent God of War: Ragnarok drama on here.
On one hand it was my 2nd favorite game in 2022.
On the other hand I’ve had 0 desire to ever go back and play it again which has to mean something was off. I may have had recency bias back when I beat it.
How many of these video game face-offs do you agree with?
(Series marked with a *)
Witcher 3 > Cyberpunk 2077
*Gears of War > Halo
*Uncharted > The Last of Us
*Mass Effect > Dragon Age
Saints Row 3 > Saints Row 2
*Batman Arkham > Insomniac’s Spiderman
Final Fantasy 8 > FF9
