MP for Keighley & Ilkley 🇬🇧 | Shadow Farming Minister | Working hard to level up & deliver positive change | Local people & local priorities first - always.
By refusing to take the difficult decisions needed, Rachel Reeves will do what she planned all along like every Labour Chancellor in history - raise your taxes.
Following statements made in the House, I have written to the Cabinet Secretary on the concerning contradiction between the Main Estimates put before Parliament last week and the document presented by the Chancellor today.
No one enters public service to put up with continued abuse.
Over the past year, I have received threatening behaviour, had my office attacked & had extra protection at home.
Unfortunately this seems to becoming the norm & it shouldn’t be tolerated.
☀️No better way to spend a Sunday than at your home town’s Gala!
Great to see Silsden Gala strongly supported by whole community with lots of competitions & stands representing many fantastic local organisations.
Huge 🙌 to all the organisers for organising a brilliant event.
⚠️ It’s vital we work hard to help change attitudes towards farm safety & prevent life-changing & fatal accidents on farm.
I know personally how terrible it is when loved ones are lost through on farm accidents.

I look forward to working with MPs from across our region on the key priorities we share.
Labour’s disastrous decision to industrialise highly productive agri land by approving 3 large solar farms in East England is hugely detrimental to our nation’s food security.

Just 87 words in Labour’s Manifesto and no mention at all of food, farming or fishing in Labour’s Kings Speech.
Food security and rural affairs is just not a priority for this Labour Government.
‘It is right that we get the right person that is able to lead the Conservative Party going forward.’
Conservative MP, Robbie Moore, gives an insight into the search for the next Conservative Leader.
Labour clearly doesn’t care about protecting our farmland or listening to rural communities.
Their decision to industrialise highly productive agri land by approving 3 large solar farms in East England is hugely detrimental to nation’s food security.
Once developed, it’s lost.
🥀 Labour doesn’t understand the vital role of farming and its place at the heart of rural communities.
🗣️ So it is no surprise that farmers like
@JPBWFarm
are already expressing their fears.

🥀 Yet more evidence that Labour neither understands nor cares about rural issues.
🚜 Food security is part of national security, so our best agricultural land must be protected for its core purpose of food production.
I want this government to succeed, as that’s what’s in the best interests of business, the economy and everyone, but they won’t succeed by pulling much needed investment in Northern transport infrastructure
