98 years ago today Malcolm X was born in Omaha, Nebraska. His family, activists for Black rights, was soon chased out of town by the KKK (the Klan killed four of Malcolm’s uncles). Omaha and Nebraska have done little to remember him and our leaders continue to whitewash history.

My grandpa died of bone cancer when I was one week old. I carry his name. I also now live in my grandparents’ home of 63 years. My grandpa left three shooters in the fridge. They have sat undisturbed since he died. Today would be his 100th birthday. Had the old Jim in his honor.

Since some friends didn’t know - some towns in Nebraska with meatpacking plants are seeing massive COVID outbreaks. Some workers don’t speak English and aren’t getting good info & some are undocumeted and risk deportation if they acknowledge their symptoms and go to the hospital.
