The reason why the PAC was formed was because the ANC was lenient and forbearing towards the oppressors, thus South Africa needed a more brutal and revolutionary movement. On the 6th April 1959 the Pan-Africanist Congress of Azania was formed.

There was no military action against colonialism in South Africa for 55 until the PAC of Azania came into existence and formed POQO-APLA. The PAC was the first to fight colonialism after the 1906 Bambatha resistance.
