I submitted my PhD dissertation entitled: The Colonial Origins of Israel’s Carceral Regime.
This thesis is dedicated to my beloved uncle, Dr. Hamdi Baroud, and the members of my family martyred and missing in the Gaza genocide.
(Next step: viva!)
It is difficult to find words. Yesterday, we were informed that we lost 6 members of our beautiful family.
5 of my cousins along with their mother, my aunt, were slaughtered by Israeli shelling on their home in Khan Younis.
My dear friend Yousef was killed with his family this morning when an Israeli missile targeted their home in Beit Lahia.
I met him while visiting the whole
@WeAreNotNumbers
team in Gaza last year.
This is what he told me when I asked ‘What is your dream?’
My sweet friend’s nephew Fadil has been murdered by an Israeli air strike in Gaza. He was only 9. His mother is in pure anguish.
He wanted to be a pilot. Before this all began, he wanted to go to the beach with his family. That would be last time he’d ever visit the sea.
I can’t believe I’m writing this. I can’t believe I’m making this post.
Our beloved Dr. Refaat Alareer has been killed by an Israeli air strike.
Alhamdulillah that I had the blessing of meeting you and becoming your friend.
Palestinians are being massacred in their hundreds yet they remain steadfast. Meanwhile, millionaire celebrities can’t maintain a backbone for 5 minutes. Disappointing.
I have reflected & wanted to apologize for posts during the recent Israel/Hamas fighting that suggested Israel is committing “genocide”. It’s not accurate, it’s inflammatory, disrespectful & is being used to justify antisemitism here & abroad. Now is the time to avoid hyperbole.
Yousef was an extremely talented writer and a bright young man. He deserved the world. Alhamdulillah that I had the honor to know him. Allah yerhamo.

May Allah SWT accept them as martyrs and assign them the highest of ranks in Jannah.
Which ever faith you practice, please make a sincere prayer for them, those in our family who are currently missing, along with everyone else.
Pray for all of Gaza.

These crimes have been committed by Israel everyday since 1948. In no way is the bombing of Gazan civilians, the theft of land, nor the systemic cleansing of Palestinians from historic Palestine exclusive to Netanyahu.
@h3h3productions
And for you to deflect onto Palestinian resistance, without validating our calls or an end to the siege, and end to the occupation, and our right of return to our land from which we were removed, is to completely divert from a productive conversation about "peace".

Hundreds of Palestinians protested in Gaza today against the Israeli siege. Not only were they punished with bullets, but bombardments around the Strip. Don’t forget about

It’s always “Palestinian rights” that are mentioned last - an afterthought - to the nonexistent rights of illegal settlers. The subject in question is PALESTINE, yet they still manage to erase actual Palestinians from the discussion completely.
@AOC
do better.
Remember when you killed 3,800 people with drone strikes alone? Or when you reportedly told your senior aides: “Turns out I’m really good at killing people. Didn’t know that was gonna be a strong suit of mine.”?
Today we remember the lives we lost on 9/11. Even the smallest act of service is a way to honor them. And just like Jay Winuk, we can honor their memories through service.
I remember talking politics over manaeesh and exploring the old city of Gaza together. I learned so much from you. I don’t think I will accept you are gone until I return to Gaza and you are not there anymore.
As Palestinians, we are taught to comply with our oppression for the sake of a peace we won’t be included in.
Unlearn this.
When a Zionist is elected, you don’t have to cheer.
We are entitled to aspirations & agendas for our people’s best interests, just like everybody else.
Alhamdulilah. I have officially completed my Bachelor’s degree in Media and Communication studies. I cannot wait to continue onto my Master’s very soon, InshAllah. Thank you mama and baba - this is all for you❤️

1. We must consider the contexts of these nations, rooted in Western colonialism and imperialism. Given the lack of credit, this is deemed as yet another part of their nations’ integrity stolen.

It is time to recognize the racism within the discourses among non-Palestinian, but supposedly pro-Palestine folks, who unfailingly perpetuate the “violence on both sides” approach to addressing the occupation.
Zaid, 4 years old, and his little sister Mariam, 2 years old, were killed along with their pregnant mother in an Israeli airstrike on Wednesday.
They weren't able to recover enough of Mariam's small body to bury her.

As we Gazans reflect on our own relationship to the Nakba, our proximity to this history looms ever closer as the threat of colonial erasure continues to stalk us as Zionist mortar fire had stalked Zarefah and Mohammed’s journey to Gaza years ago.
"As we witness the genocide unfolding in Gaza, our ancestors’ lived experiences of the Nakba feel that much closer. Seventy-six years later, we face the imminent threat of colonial erasure just as they did."

France’s recently adopted Hijab policy is nothing new.
We cannot simply accept the policy as part of France’s secular agenda, but rather one of white supremacy and colonial hegemony.

If you think your reason for voting for Harris is convincing enough - I urge you to consider how you’d explain it to Refaat.
How his life was not a red line.
You don’t get to “stand” with Palestinians one day and dictate how they respond to their subjugation the next - just because armed struggle and indigenous agency don’t align with your pink pussy hat approaches to oppression.
